Pine Cottage Bed & Breakfast

10/10 Excellent

"The porters from the ferry will bring your luggage to your room when you arrive on the island and take them to the ferry when you are leaving. Greeted by friendly staff (We had the pleasure of meeting Clair and Cora) at the Pine Cottage. Breakfast is amazing! We ate there 5 of the 6 days we were there. Easy to navigate the stairs as long as you don't have knee issues. The cleaning staff were amazing; unobtrusive and quick! Be sure to come back around 4pm for tea time and those giant cookies! We loved the room with the private bath! Claw foot tub so bring your bubble bath; You won't find any on the island! If you needed anything, just ask. We can't wait to come back!"

"The Inn is on the main road but about a quarter mile from town but close enough to enjoy it. They have fudge and a good coffee shop in the lobby. Our turret room was nice and had lots of windows. Their is a nice heated pool with a waterfall out back. Their is also a sitting balcony overlooking the street on the second floor and a little sitting area right off the main street. My only two minor complaints are the Wi-Fi is spotty and the breakfast lacks protein like scrambled eggs and sausage. You have protein yogurt and boiled eggs but I would appreciate these things, especially for the price you pay."

"Beautiful grounds with hammocks, lawn games, countless flowers, and views to Lake Huron and Mighty Mac. The rooms in the summer house had nice terrace gardens. The food was pricey, but delicious at casual restaurant. We bought breakfast sandwiches from General Store which were delicious and fast. We took the shuttle to and from town, but it is also walkable if the weather is nice."

"For a hotel that was supposedly built in 2010, this place felt very dated with some minor updates. As far as the room, the mattress were very stiff, thin boxspring mattress on a platform base. The aircondition squealled while it ran; however, it was cool enough during our stay we did not really need the A/C. The beach was horrible. It needed to be raked, the grass was grown threw the sand and the seagul poop was everywhere. The side door to exit the hotel to the beach area had a bunch of clutter stacked up. Old buckets, plastic bins, broken plastic furniture and hold wooden fencing just lying on the ground. This place definitely needs some TLC. If you stay, skip the breakfast. Powdered eggs, frozen re-heated pancakes, some cereal, bread and cheap pastries. All in all, wouldn't stay here again."

Murray Hotel

"We absolutely loved our room as we had a water view. The weather was so nice that we slept with the windows open and surprisingly the night life was not loud even though we were in the Main Street to shopping and bars/grills. We loved hearing the horses clomp through the streets, very peaceful. The room was nice, only drawback was queen size bed as we are used to a king and no fridge. The Murray hotel is centrally located which was really nice! The fudge store in the lobby had the best fudge of all the fudge shops!! Their breakfast burrito was a hit for my husband. We needed time to shop after checkout so their luggage room was perfect to store our items until we had to catch the ferry. We will definitely stay here again if we can ever get back!"
