"The staff was very helpful and made us feel most welcome. The place was clean and the breakfast was good. I really appreciated that they would not allow us to tip because it made the experience feel more comfortable. Tipping culture in Egypt can be crazy.
Our room was very nice and having the two bedrooms was wonderful for our family."

"I was very pleased with my stay for a few days in Luxor. Most of my plans did not work out due to the restriction on hot air balloons during the summer month. Luckily, they were able to help me connect with local drivers and travel agents. I had such a fulfilling three days and for the most part, the staff were very receptive. They really seemed invested in ensuring I was having a smooth time at the property and did not do too much heavy handed up selling. I would say the food was the only part that was 50-50 for me as the first day the food was amazing, but the quality shifted progressively the more time I spent there. Overall, though, it was an accessible property, close to the airport, and with a view from the rooftop that overlooked the east in West bank I thought that was amazing."
"I enjoyed my stay in Luxor, Egypt at Sonestra Hotel. Staff at the hotel always approached with kindness and helpfulness. Thank you so much for making my stay enjoyable."
"The staff was great and very helpful. They allowed us to check in at 11:00 which was great after a long flight. They can arrange transportation and tours as well."
"The hotel was very clean and well kept , no complaints there , room was kept clean and the staff were helpful
I know it's the summer time so not many guests but I did not appreciate the guy who showed me where to sit in the restaurant stand there and watch me eat, I was the only person in the restaurant so it was very intimidating"
"This was my second visit to the Djorff Palace and it was every bit as good as the first. The hotel is in a beautiful location right on the Nile close to the valley of the kings.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable with an excellent air conditioning unit. Relaxing pool area with great sun beds set up daily with towels. Great breakfast and freshly cooked meals at lunchtime and dinner time, with daily changing menu. A huge bonus is the hotel’s own river boat that will take you across the Nile for free or down to the old town centre for a small charge and will then bring you back when your ready to return. Would highly recommend…."
"you have to come in with appropriate expectations. This is Egypt and it's Luxor. The pictures make this look very beautiful, and a lot of the resort is picturesque, but what you don't see is you get dropped off on a street and walk through a metal detector, there are A LOT of mosquitoes, and the rooms are tired. I mean, I walked in and could see from across the room that the mattress was shot, with huge depressions where people had been sleeping over the years, and my back hurt all week. The air conditioners worked but were super loud. The rooms are huge but pretty dilapidated, with weird bathrooms. The pool was really nice and the staff were very nice. Our guide warned us that many of his clients staying here had gotten 'food poisoning', and I did indeed get travelers diarrhea here. I cannot be sure where I got it but we only ate at the hotel and Im a doctor who is very germaphobic and Im an experienced traveler, I never touch tap water even for the toothbrush. I was the only one of my family who ate salad twice, so that is a possible source. I should know better than ordering a salad, but I thought it would be safe in the hotel. Totally my fault, but would ask the hotel to make sure they are not washing vegetables in tap water. The doctor on site was super nice and helpful and gave me cipro/flagyl which took care of it in a couple of days. We ended our stay early. I will not be coming back. Its probably nice by Luxor standards, just set your expectations appropriately."
