"Das Guesthouse liegt mitten im UNESCO-Welterbe und ist denkmalgeschützt. Deshalb kann die Ausstattung nicht an moderne Zeiten angepasst werden. Die Treppe zu den Zimmern ist relativ steil. Den Gang der Mönche kann man vom Balkon aus beobachten, ohne die Einheimischen zu stören. Die Dame an der Rezeption sprach leider sehr wenig Englisch. Deshalb war die Kommunikation per Übersetzungsprogrammen recht umständlich."

"This is an older, unkempt property. The room numbers were written on yellow Post-It Notes above each door. I was in two different rooms due to a mix-up. Neither one had soap. The woman running the place asked me how much I'd paid for my room when I came out for breakfast on my first morning, even though it had come with my room. It took nearly ten minutes to explain to her that breakfast was included regardless of how much I'd paid. "

"何度目かの滞在。見知ったスタッフが迎えてくれる。ツアーの勧誘も無ければ観光案内も無い。いい意味でほったらかし。でも部屋の清掃や備品の補充などはきちんとやってくれる。朝食はヌードルや焼き飯、トーストやパンケーキなど10種類ぐらいからの選択。飲み物もマンゴーシェイクやコーヒーなど。これにフルーツの盛り合わせも付くのでお腹いっぱい。一番安い105の部屋は狭いし窓からの眺望も全く無いけれど快適。昼間もフロントは空っぽだったり夜も遅くなると扉が閉められていて寝ているスタッフを起こしたりしなければならないことも。朝の托鉢を見に行こうとしたらまだスタッフが寝ていて自分で勝手に扉を開けて出かけたりも。コーヒーは近くのサフランコーヒーが美味しい。朝市を見た後にコーヒーを飲むのが日課だった。過剰なサービスも無ければ設備もないけれどまったりした時間が過ぎるのを忘れるような滞在が楽しめる。"

"Loved this place! All the staff, especially sweet Kim, were so kind, thoughtful, and helpful. The rooms and common areas are all super clean. The beds were even comfortable -- a rarity in SE Asia (so many old mattresses!). There is free breakfast ever morning with fruit, coffee or tea, juice, and your choice of menu items, including bread and jam for us vegans. Close enough to everything you need without being TOO close (I wouldn't want to stay right on the night market street, for example)....
