"On the positive side the staff were really good. Excellent service and very helpful and friendly. The food was good both for breakfast and evening meal. On the negative side, it's an old building and is showing it's age. The floor in our room had a noticeable slope (disconcerting when you get out of bed at night). There was no hot water one evening for a few hours. Seems no-one had spotted the boiler was off."

"Public areas are interesting and quirky, the mix of very old and contemporary really works, The room was rather tired and in need of TLC which is a real shame as this too was quirky, a big problem was the lack of lightning and sockets near the only mirror, this proved Difficult for me, also no shower, just a large bath in the room. Our room was overlooked by the restaurant so some of the blinds had to be permanent down, some didn’t even function, this really does need attention !!! also our room (6) was reached by very narrow, steep and curved stairs which would be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional, Sunday roast yummy. The older parts of Frome are really interesting, some parts medieval I believe, the old cobble roads are very steep but well worth visit, there is a market with over 300 artisan stalls which cover most of the town, first Sunday of every month, the most impressive, and busiest market I’ve ever seen. Even though the Archangel was in my opinion a bit pricey, we had a lovely time, it certainly was an experience."

"Host was extremely helpful and provided us with a list local restaurants which resulted in finding an excellent Turkish restaurant for our evening meal. The room and associated bathroom was very clean. The actual house is amazing which dates back hundreds of years. The breakfast was freshly made and there was plenty of orange juice, tea, coffee and cereals. I can not fault our stay in any way. Would definitely stay there if travelling down again, and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a top class B&B. Ideal location to visit Longleat Safari park and National Trust's Stourhead Estate. Excellent experience throughout."
