We booked through Expedia, but first called the hotel to ensure it was pet-friendly, as it was listed so on this website, but not specified on their own. We were assured it was, and proceeded to book. We then took a pricey cab ride from the airport to this hotel, and were checked in while holding our dog; when we went to get into the elevator, the front desk attendant said we couldn't bring our dog with us... as if we should leave him somewhere? It turns out the hotel is not pet friendly, and when I explained to the front desk that we checked ahead of time, she called a manager, and neither were concerned about the misinformation, just told us we couldn't stay, and said "there's other hotels around". After 30 mins of us sitting in the lobby with our suitcases and dog, we found other accommodations, and asked if they would mind calling us a taxi. It was now a new front desk attendant, and he said he would call and that they'd cover the taxi fare, we'd just have to submit a receipt to the manager's email. We moved to our new location, emailed the receipt, received an email back that we'd hear from them soon, and then did not. After following up again, we still haven't heard anything from the managers, and it's clear they don't see a problem with how any of this was handled. Really disappointed in the lack of service here, but glad we found something better.
