BEWARE - this is NOT a hotel - dont expect much For 145-200 dollars per night this was a scam! Service was terribly poor almost next to nothing They wont even ask if you need help with your bags especially when they are giving you room on 4th or 5th level. Reception is on second level and one lady there was nice and honest that room is not big. But you wont be able imagine how small the room is until you enter in. Less than 100sq.ft. Smaller than North American bathrooms or laundry rooms. Bed was comfortable but no air conditioning or central heater. Two tiny towels in room which are good for little toddlers not for adults. Toilet does not flush unless you flush it 3-4 times. Shower does not have shower head but a single hand held shower which does not have any force and hot water is not constant and not easy to adjust. Wifi never worked and reception said they dont know as they use their own internet separate from what they give to guests. They did not even offer to fix it or look into it. I will never stay in this hotel and I hope people think 100 times before staying here. Expedia did not rate this property right!!! Room had one power plug away from bed. No room for bedside table. No room for 3 bags. This is good room during sprong months but not in hot summers as there is no ceiling fan. One table fan is given but hardly has any space for it. Kettle works. No bottles of water is given in room. The electric heater works OK but not really good for so much money per night

This man was very tall and very large. The small economy single room is the cheapest room in the hotel and usually used only by guests who want cheap accommodation with private bathroom ensuite and gets many returning guests. Towels are british standard size - toilet works perfectly - wifi works perfectly well in every room, the same as in reception and there are 2 working plugs in the room. The guest smiled passing reception and said how comfortable he was - he was moving to different hotel the next day as we were fully booked - he must be confused as none of this makes sense! ALL VERY ODD.

Good value, pleasant stay
I was very satisfied with this hotel. It was a good value for the price. It was tight, especially the bathroom, but that is to be expected. Everything worked well. I was not a great fan of the shampoo and shower gel packets. They are tough to open when wet. I was given a larger room than I had ordered, which was nice. Staff were very friendly.

The welcome was very good and friendly. The bedside lamp didn't work. I even tried switching the bulb. I told them when I left. The bed was very springy and the pillows like bricks.

Definitely would recommend
Very clean and tidy. Management was very accommodating with extra blankets and even a space heater, although once we figured out how to work the radiator we actually did not need the space heater. Friendly and welcoming. Space was a little tight especially in the bathroom. Close access to tube stations. Overall an excellent place to stay

Exceptional front of house/reception. Friendly and very helpful. Very good value for money in terms of convenience of location, quiet spot, close to shops so easy to get breakfast, dinner etc. Very clean bathroom, warm (heating is on) and dry room, comfortable bed. I have been impressed and will definitely be coming back.

Great location and Compact Comfort
We received a nice and helpful welcome on arrival. Check in was very easy and quick. Although the room was quite small (we knew this in advance) it had everything we needed for a weekend stay. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The main advantage of this hotel is its price for the location (5 min walk from Pimlico Underground). I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a budget stay (is there such a thing in London anymore?) who does not need too many luxuries or space. I would most likely return here.

One of my favourite places to stay in London
Lovely place to stay. Felt friendly and well run. Traditional and not that modern, but clean, quiet and with all the facilities you need. Rather strange there were no shelves to store items but there were hangers and a good amount of space. Bathroom was spotless!

Nice, clean hotel
Nice older hotel, well located a few minutes’ walk from the Pimlico Tube station. The reception staff was always friendly and helpful, and I was pleasantly surprised by daily cleaning in my room. Many hotels in the US and France no longer offer this. I suggest asking for a room on the back side of the hotel, as the road side can be fairly noisy. There was no thermostat in my room on the top floor and although the radiator was turned off, the room still got pretty hot. It cooled down quickly by opening the window, but then there was more street noise. Still, I had no trouble sleeping and the bed was quite comfortable. Note that there is no elevator/lift in the hotel, so be prepared for stairs with smaller suitcases.

Don't know why this hotel has a good rating. The room that they assigned to my colleague was horrible. It wasn't thay clean and a window could not be closed. It means the cold drafted kept coming in and my colleague had only 2 hours of sleeps before working on an event. My colleague complained about it but nothing they could do as they were full. How horrible.

The staff were pleasant and the first person went the extra mile to check us in as Expedia had made an error with payment for the booking. The room was serviceable, clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was small. There were no common areas or amenities in the hotel. The area is lovely but very few amenities. Close to the tube and buses to get you to other parts of the city and a 10 minute walk to the river.

The best thing about staying at the Blades is the manager. Never have I received such kindness and care from someone who just met me. My husband was taken to the hospital and Tami was intervening with transportation, which hospital I should go and extending my stay. She is a fabulous representative for your company and has extremely wonderful personal skills/communication

This was a clean and safe place to stay. The staff was nice and the room seemed clean. Just a heads up to Americans, do not stay here during hot weather because there is no air conditioning and the rooms become unbelievably hot. We came in September and didn’t think that heat would be an issue but it was as awful. Also, there is no lift and your luggage must be carried up many stairs.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review - UK in general is not equipped for such weather and small budget hotels do not have air conditioning however the more expensive hotels do something to keep in mind for your next trip - in saying that the weather has been extraordinarily hot this year! Also these old traditional Central London hotels are listed buildings to protect the heritage and are not allowed to install lifts or make any changes to the building which is quite endearing to most guests. We have enjoyed our stay at the Blades Hotel and we really appreciate the help from the staff. Hotel is located in the house from Victorian times and it is close to Pimlico underground station. There is also a lot of dining and shopping opportunities in walkable distance. Hotel is currently undergoing renovation so it would likely be further improved. We have stayed at the room with 4 beds (1x queen bed, 2x twin bed). Our only issue was where to fit our luggage because the space in the room was rather limited. Other than that this was great value for money and we hope to return in the future.

Good location and staff was nice but property wasn’t in great shape and bathrooms weren’t that clean. Also, the family room that sleeps 5 doesn’t have a bathroom in the room. You have to walk down the hall which is very inconvenient.

The family room sleeps 5 people which is quite rare to find in the very centre of London and when booking a budget hotel - all guests are advised prior to arrival regarding the bathroom being adjacent to the room - accommodating 5 persons in one room, the position of the bathroom does suit all of our guests that book the family room. Our cleaning is excellent and very few comment on this issue. Thankyou.

I know this is an old hotel but some additional features/upgrades would have improved it greatly. We were on the top floor with no lift-a lot of stairs. Not 24 hour people working there so felt uneasy after 9;00 when they left. What if I there was an emergency or we needed help? No one around. No emergency lights or detectors as far as I could see. Bathroom needed upgrading and not a lot of hot water. Bring your own toiletries. Pillows hard as a rock…wouid not recommend and will not stay there again.

Dear Madame.Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and while the reception door maybe closed there is staff on the premises 24 hours a day 7 days a week, and cameras on every floor so the staff can see what is happening at all times.We have never had a problem with the hot water and should you have asked reception we would have shown you how to use the shower correctly.Our hotel is a wonderful listed building in the very center of London and we do a very good job keeping the essence of the old London English Traditional houses.We provide excellent cleaning and toiletries on a daily basis and again have not had complaints of this nature.Kind regards
