this hotel is small but very nice, very clean and the staff is very friendly and knowledgable. they helped me get around with the bus and subway and taxis, they were there all the time, the place was very clean and relaxing

Depressing and shabby, needs TLC
The staff work hard here and are very helpful, but the hotel itself is very worn down and desperately in need of care. The carpet has holes in it and is dirty black in places, the paint is coming off of the walls, and the room was freezing. Definitely budget, but we've gotten much better for this price. Small room. The owners should take time to renovate. I would not stay here again, but for the location. Depressing.

The staff were amazing. They even recommended a great breakfast place that we ended up going to every morning before exploring. I forgot my adapter and they helped me out.

Staff were friendly and tried to be helpful with directions, etc. The room itself was extremely cramped - little room for luggage. The bathroom taps for sink and shower were difficult to control - water sprayed everywhere - entire bathroom floor was soaked after a shower. Heater was jammed against the second bed - heat was turned on inadvertently while we were away for the day - by evening, the room was like a furnace. It was up to us to turn it down, once we were told where the control was - it took hours to cool down. The hair dryer and kettle did not work initially - staff did check fuses elsewhere in building and remedied the situation. This should have been checked before occupancy. I understand that rooms in modest hotels in London are very small, and have stayed in other small rooms, but this was a very inconvenient room in which to stay.

Don’t get this place confused with Kensington west spa hotel as I did. Room was crammed with beds, including bunks. Mattress uncomfortable and stained. Carpets smell of pee. Didn’t trust to eat there so can’t comment on the food

2 nights bearable just about for a quiet life. ( really should have complained). Room 22 very! cracked tiles in shower room. If it was your house you’d fix it straight away. Stains in ceiling from flat roof above. Noise from boiler below. Cheap but not worth it.

Nice stay
We asked for a double room and when we checked in, we got a double bed and twin bunk beds, plenty of room for my daughter and me. Hotel was only a few blocks from the tube station, so very convenient. After check-out we were allowed to keep our luggage there until we left for the airport later that night. Staff was friendly and helpful with traveler information.

Our twin room was fine for size but the bathroom was ridiculously small. And after one shower the floor was soaking wet. Also, when we stayed it was very very hot. No fans or air conditioning in the room. Thank God I brought a mini fan with me. Also just one pillow per bed. Not the most comfortable. Would have been nice to have been given the option of one or two more. The staff and cleanliness were great though. Location was fantastic.

This is a Dump
Avoid this place at all costs. Terrible terrible. Filthy rooms dirty carpets broken mirror and tiny rooms. Staff arrogant and unwelcoming Had booked for 3 nights but cancelled the last 2 and now they won’t give me my money back. Should not be advertised on any site Windows open on garbage dump so you cannot open them to aerate a bit cause flies and other rodents could get into the room. Garbage truck arrives at 6:00 and try to sleep with all the noise,

Good location, fast efficient check in, clean.
Only a couple of niggles - shower room was a little smelly and there are some corridors that are pitch black! However, this hotel is excellent value, really clean and comfortable, and has friendly staff with a 24 hour reception. I would happily pay extra if they wanted to offer a continental breakfast pack like an American motel.

Fantastic family stay in Kensington West Hotel.
We have just returned from an amazing weekend in London & stayed in Kensington West Hotel with our 4 children. The hotel was fantastic, our family room - 1 double,2 singles & bunk beds was clean, in great condition, spacious & the beds were comfier than we all have at home! There was a bath & shower in the room & working kettle, hairdryer & tv. The staff were friendly & helpful & the atmosphere was very welcoming. The hotel is in a nice clean neighbourhood with a 20minute walk to Shepherds Bush that felt safe enough to walk back from in the middle of the night. Hotel & neighbour hood was also very quiet through the night resulting in rested happy children the next morning ready for a long day in London. There is also a car park space we used through justpark that was a 3 min walk away from the hotel. We can't wait to book a stay with the hotel again later in the year.

It is in a quiet area and still of walkable distance to a tube station. The room is very small, just like those in Japan. The maintenance is minimal and there is only a reception counter and no lobby to meet friends.

Hotel room was terrible it was way too small I went there with 2 of my friends for the weekend. The room had bunk beds in because it was that small to fit 2 single beds in. Carpet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for years! Only thing that was okay and got us through staying in that hotel was because the bathroom and shower were pretty new and actually clean. And the staff were friendly and helpful.

The staffs are very nice an very helpful on many things. The room is small but clean. It only take less than 10 mins walk to West kensington station ( on District line).

All in all, a good hotel
Overall, we were pleased with our stay here. The service and the location were fantastic. The rooms were great too, giving us everything we needed. The only downside was the relatively thin walls. Both my partner and I were frequently woken up during each night to either talking in the next room or doors being shut outside.

Cheap London hotel. Rooms are quite modern on the surface, and facilities value for money paid. However a number of concerns raised: 1) linen and towels were not changed once during 4 night stay: 2) cups were not washed, rather sprayed with window cleaner and wiped clean; 3) unusual loud buzzing noise one night from about 3-5AM from nearby room; 4) no hot water for half a day during stay, nor any warning of such disturbance. Would not recommend.

this hotel has a great location
the rooms are tiny, but clean- the bathrooms are clean and modern. i like the place for the location- it is very convenient for Heathrow airport and for getting into London- Kensington is a great location to stay.- I like the hotel despite the cramped rooms. there is a Sainsburys 200 metres away that has great croissants every morning - so breakfast is convenient.

The carpet needed to be replaced, burnt markings. Toilet seat looked a bit stained. As well as a large bath towel, a small hand towel would have been nice. The shower hot water took ages to heat up, then as was warned it was very hot.

Basic accommodation close to Olympia
Have stayed here before. The setup is minimal. In-room baths are essentially closets; beds are comfortable but basic. If you have two people in the room, it requires some navigation on space. Staff is very friendly and room upkeep is good. Carpets have stains. Draw for me is proximity to Olympia - five minute walk, if that. If you're attending a conference and have a lot of evening commitments, this is a good, moderate-cost option.

Small but everything there
The room was compact and comfortable with one of the smallest bathrooms I’ve seen. Strangely there were bunk beds in the room too. All linen pure white and sparkling. Had trouble connecting to WiFi and decided not to bother with going down to reception for more instructions. The only thing that let our room down was the staining on the carpet. But for the price it was v good value. Reception staff welcoming

Good value, best of the budget hotels so far
Good room, good location. Gabriella at the front desk was cheerful and helped me learn Romanian. Was able to get a very reasonable price though rates will go up in Summer. Close to West Kensington tube and Olympia overground.

Clean but cramped room.
Clean, warm Hotel with helpful Receptionist and lift. However, the room was so small you could not walk round the foot of the bed to close the curtains or get into bed. Consequently the guest on the far side of the bed had to climb over the other guest! Full size very deep bath with good shower over it but this extra room should have been used to redesign the main room. Hair dryer in the room and very close to Olympia Exhibition Centre.

Nice, comfortable room. The check-in process was good. The person in front was pretty helpful. The room itself was comfortable for sleeping at night. Everything worked well. The only minor gripe is that the bathroom could have been cleaned by the room-service folks. It's possible that this is not part of their daily maintenance and only done after check-out..
