I was completely blown away by the state of my room, The curtain was hanging off the rails, The carpet was dirty and also the shower. Advertised was a restaurant but this was closed so I had to get Uber eats in for dinner. The breakfast was continental and it was basically 3 cereals and the one I chose was stale. Totally disappointed with this hotel it could be so nice

The hotel reception was cold and not wellcoming There was no food at the hotel and the rooms and shower were unclean The single staff on site was the receptionsist and also the cook but as there was no food we manage de to get a complimentry drink This hotel should be removed from Hotels.com and realy should refund me and another guest we booked who arrive later than us. Who had to sleep in her clothes as her room was very cold Do not recommend to anyone

Comfortable but tired
Comfortable bed and pleasant & helpful staff but room looked a bit tired with stains on the carpet and marks on the wall. Restaurant menu quite limited. A bit dated overall.

Very good value if you don't need bells &whistles
It would seem that the hotel has changed hands recently and I think that we might have been the only guests on this day, - 7 June 2023. The young receptionist, who had been employed for only 3 months was extremely helpful and efficient, ad vising us that the restaurant had only a limited menu being bar meals; However she was helpful in suggesting local alternatives. Booking in was quick and efficient, we were allocated a room next to lift on first floor, very convenient for my limited mobility. Room was clean and tidy with all essentials. Breakfast was well cooked and presented although basic full english where we selected from menu on registration. 5 star it is not, but value for money it is!

Rooms were spacious check in staff was great but facilities are not as expected was sent email to say no lunch available but dinner and breakfast was to find out no food served in the evening on a Friday Saturday which I find buzzard, bar was very below average in choice and availability

Good old Berwick Manor Hotel!
Great hotel tucked away in the beautiful Rainham countryside. staff are excellent and very accommodating. Food is good, but a little limited. Breakfast is lovely. Just wish more attention payed to floors, fixings etc

Being in the middle of nowhere has some pluses like a very quiet and relaxing surroundings. The hotel itself is exceptionally clean, rooms are spacious and comfortable. Strong A.

Quite disappointing extremely hot day fan didn’t work blind was comin away from brackets and couldn’t adjust so took it down only slight relief from heat was window open but then thunderstorms and lightning very heavy rain coming in through open window

The hotel reception staff were very helpful. The location is next to farm fields and very peaceful. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. I wanted a blanket as the duvet was too hot. This request was done. I then had a very cool summer night.

Disgusting and unpleasant throughout
I have no idea how this place has so many positive reviews - I was genuinely wondering if I was in the wrong location because it was so bad! The rooms and hallway had an awful onion/sweat smell and were so stuffy. The windows didn't stay open so I had to try and prop it open just to get some air in (during the heatwave) but it was uncomfortable the whole time. The large bed was in fact 2 pushed together so had a lumpy gap in the middle, and the bed sheets were torn. The carpets and walls were stained with holes in and clearly tired and damaged. The bathroom was unclean and the shower seal didn't work so the bathroom floor got soaked with every shower. Housekeeping was ineffective as the room was still disgusting and the water was not replenished after their visit (again, during a heatwave) Breakfast was pre order only, although it was not made clear to me that the order had to be the same time and food for both days so I missed it on the second morning. The food was dry and overcooked, the milk for cereal was warm and watery, generally it was unpleasant. The staff were barely there, it took me 10 minutes to find someone to get my breakfast in the mornings. At check in the server was unhelpful, didn't tell me where the rooms actually were and was unable to provide me with a full receipt. Disappointing and disgusting, will definitely not be back!

A really good check in experience. Breakfast was pre-ordered the day before from a good range of options. This was then served in the restaurant. Clean and comfortable hotel and excellent value for money given its location

Right i dont normally dp bad reviews but here goes. On arrival the intially receptionist was lovely. She made me feel welcomed and was the only shining light from there. Booked my continental breakfast for the folloeing day. Only thing i asked for was some fruit with my branflakes. Which she said shouldnt be an issue. Rooms were single glazed wooden framed windows. Chilly but not unbearable at 5pm etc. When ive gone to reception at 6 30 to see nobody on there again and nobody on the bar or working in the restaurant. Had to get a scraggy menu from the counter on reception and the menu was appauling. No variety and very basic. Omlette and that find of food. Asked reception where else i could eat to no recommendations. Heads up the good intent was amazing for food. Went back to the room after my nice meal put to fond the radiator didnt work. Fabulous. Went down to reception nobody there again so abanonded it wrapped up and got into bed. Froze my bits off all night but hey ho i had breakfast to look forward to surely. Came down for my allocated time. Waited 15 mins nobody in sight and someone finally comes out with my brekkie. Excellent. Well no it wasnt. No fruit you can have mr smith so you just have branflakes and a coffee. Uht milk and it was dreadful. 1 mouthful and i left. Image of their continental breakfast below. There was no juices no pastries nothing. Just that bowl Place was spotlessly clean. Just let down with poor service and poor equipment. Wouldnt stay again.

Average however hotel being refurbished
Good location Room very dusty, insufficient tea facilities to two people, crockery teaspoon unwashed and kettle needed replacing. Comfy bed, plenty of hot water and good water pressure Good breakfast which was pre booked. A separate food request form per person would be much better.

Comfy and friendly great location
Staff was lovely and went out the way to get tinned tomatoes for our breakfast. Will stay again as the bed was super comfy. Just a train ride from London centre. £6 taxi to the station

OK -but
Nicely placed hotel. Shame that you have to go into Dagenham to get a takeaway because the hotel has no evening meal facilities.
