I recently stayed at the Assembly and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. From the moment I arrived, I was met with a series of letdowns that made my stay far from enjoyable. First and foremost, there was no TV in the room. While I understand some people might prefer a tech-free environment, It felt like a significant oversight for the price I paid. Additionally, there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. I was quite surprised to find there was no kettle available either. For a hotel in this price range, I expected at least the basic amenities to make my stay comfortable. The staff behaviour was another major issue. They were both weird and rude, making me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable throughout my stay. Any questions or requests were met with either a dismissive attitude or outright rudeness, which is simply unacceptable in the hospitality industry. Security is always a priority for me when traveling, so I was extremely disappointed to discover there was no safe inside the room. This added to my overall sense of discomfort and insecurity during my stay. Given all these issues, I can confidently say that the stay was not worth the price I paid. The lack of basic amenities and the poor service made it a highly regrettable experience. I will never go back to Assembly and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay.

I booked the windowless room so I didn’t have high expectations to begin with but it was by far the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. The bed was on the floor pinned against the wall so it was slightly inconvenient getting in and out of bed without hitting my partner. All you get is a bed, toilet, sink and shower. It was hard to fit with all of our luggage. The staff was friendly.

The location of the property was excellent - just 3 mins walk to Leicester Square tube station, a 7 to 10 min stroll away from Covent Garden and the surrounding shopping and dining area. Cleanliness and availability of amenities in the room was conversely less than desired.. spotted ants in the room, room did not have any TV, no bottled water, no kettle for hot water for the cold weather too :(

The stay was good. I felt safe and the surrounding area was convenient for shopping and social activities. The only things I didn’t love, was the darkness of the properly and there was a smell in the room, almost like mold. It wasn’t overwhelming enough to negatively affect my stay but enough to give a “good” rating be “excellent.”

Accommodations were excellent. Do not expect to have a TV since the room is for sleeping and resting only. Very walkable to a lot of attractions. Staff is very accommodating and professional. It’s a great place to stay!

The staff was excellent in getting the room ready even though we arrived early. The location was excellent since it was close to everything we needed to see. The room was smaller than expected , but okay for 2 people. The bed was a bit lumpy. The main problems were the sink and shower faucets. When you start turning to the hot water, annoying noise would continue until you turn them off. It sounded like old pipes groaning. You had to find a certain turn to quiet them down, but then the noises start again. We were able to tolerate the noises for 3 straight days since we didn’t want to change rooms.

The staff was outstanding. The location was outstanding-one block to Leicester Square, numerous theaters and restaurants nearby. The hotel is newly finished and very clean and nice. But the hotel lacks some typical things, which is apparently its business model. No television. No desk or chair, so no place to sit other than the bed. No place to set suitcases. No ice available. The bed had a duvet but no separate sheet so only heavy cover. Odd corner-cutting which severely impacted the pleasure of staying there.

Great location and staff are super friendly and helpful. Hotel is great value for money - only comment I would make was the lack of a TV and a table of some kind - obviously down to the size of the room. Otherwise perfect for a weekend break in London.

Very cute hotel and clean. I had to switch hotels last minute and booked this hotel day of and I was so happy I booked it. The location is so close to everything, easy transportation, and food. They have a gorgeous rooftop restaurant and bar with an awesome happy hour deal with a great view of the city. I really enjoyed my stay.

Broken aircon. Transferred to cheaper sister hotel without notice till attempted to check in. No refund offered or fare difference. The staff at the sister hotel were more hospitable.

Brilliant. A breath of fresh air, no TV, no useless extras you don't need. Location is priceless. As a base in the heart of London with no distractions to keep you from exploring outside, you can't beat it. The rooftop bar is great as well. Formalish but not pretentious.

Good for an overnight stay, but probably wouldn't be my choice for more than a night. Very convenient location for theatres and shopping/general touristing, and a good 11am check out too. The room I booked was windowless, which I think is fairly common in London, but you can stay at other properties for similar price and get more for your money. The floors are tiled, which felt clean, as was the bathroom. Good when you have to keep everything on the floor as there's no hanging space (except for a coat) or table/chair to put things on. If you wear contact lenses, or have anything more than a toothbrush for toiletries, you'll have to balance things on the loo, as there isn't even a little shelf in the bathroom. No bath mat provided, so we had to use the hand towel. There's soap in the shower, but you'll possibly regret using it as you dance around under freezing and scolding temperatures with bad water pressure. The air con unit/fan hummed loudly all night, but the rest of the hotel was quiet (on a Tuesday). Staff were friendly and helpful at check-in too. Overall fine for a night.

It was an amazing position in central london close to Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden etc. So close to theatre and gallery that we were visiting. We loved the rooftop bar for a cocktail looking at the view from the London Wheel to St Pauls.

Amazing location that is less than a half hour walk from almost anything you could hope to do or see as a tourist in London. Small but functional rooms are kept clean. Reception staff were helpful and professional.

I was happy with how convenient it was to walk outside and be in the center of everything. The hotel itself was great, staff was excellent. What I did not like is our room and towels smelled like cigarettes. There was trash under the bed and throughout the carpet and curtains remains someone's leftover fluids. I also did not like that there was no convenient water offered or coffee in the room, (would hv been nice). TV unavailable which is ok but when passing time in the room there's nothing to do. Other than that it's a great place for a quick sleep. Nothing more than that.
