It’s a basic hotel - not for anyone wanting the lap of luxury, but it was clean, comfortable and very well located for anyone travelling from Kings Cross. For £80 a night it was reasonably priced.

We are both lawyers and we will certainly be calling the health inspection agency to attend to this hotel. We were travelling internationally from Canada as a couple. We checked in Nov 1st after a long day of travel and stayed for half an hour before leaving. We booked this place because it was “cheaper” in the London area and because of the location. The pictures they have do not represent what the place actually looks like. It is really like a bad hostel. It was super dirty and tiny. We pulled wads of hair out of the rug. The walls were splattered with unknown substances. The furniture was in rough shape. We booked a new hotel for double the costs and when we respectfully told them were leaving they didn’t have much to say. We said we would pay for our first night but asked for a refund for the following two nights and they wouldn't entertain that. Just pay double the cost to stay anywhere but here.

You get what you paid for bearing in mind that London is an expensive city. The room was small, a bit grubby and run down, but location was great. We read the reviews after booking and to be frank we were expecting much worse- yes there is nobody in the reception most of the time, and yes you will have to carry your own bags, but this is London- street noise was minimal and there were no loud drunks during our stay (but we werent there for the weekend). If you intend to visit the city and not spend any time in your room other than to sleep then this might be a good option- we had a family room for 4 including 2 teens and it was ok. Ear plugs are recommended.

Here below are my real star -5 for room this is not even a room Just look at the photos Our was at the 3rd floor -5 servis , there is no lobby neither room servis , they have a not on the door you need to call so someone will open the door , in case you are traveling internationally you may need to activate your roaming ! Location is good but trust me you will suffer because the smelly stairs, rooms and bathrooms they are all disgusting The furniture is old and damaged The walls are stained Its like you are going to a restroom in the middle of nowhere Thirty and old and damaged They need to renovate and share the new photos! Location is fabulous but room was way too small for two people and a big suitcase. The suitcase blocked the batrhoom door. OK for one person with small suitcase. Fixtures and fittings very tired. Need all ripping out and doing again.

First when we arrived nobody was in the reception, had to ring few time until someone came, just to notice the reception is in the building and you need to wait outside, in fact the reception was empty during our all our 4 days stay, if something happens like you fell off the stairs or you need help you must make a phone call. The hotel is very small in poor condition, stairs feels like falling apart, room is so tiny, the walls are dirty, the sheets were torn and my kids bed was uncomfortable as one of the springs was put. The bathroom is so so small and the walls have mold. Very disappointed with the overall feeling. Poor condition. We will surely not come back. Doesn’t worth the amount we way for sure.

Our room was the worst we stayed in our whole trip. It was tiny and was filthy. Walls were dirty. Bathroom carpets and walls all needed a desperate cleaning. No water bottles in room, except for a reusable glass one which there was no way we would attempt to drink from that given how the the condition of the room. Shower was gross and water would not drain so you had to stand in a pool of dirty drain water. The ironing board had a large stain on it.

Worst place I ever stayed
The place was rundown and old. Small rooms and the bathroom was barely large enough for us to fit. Couldn’t have been larger than a closet. Dirty walls, no elevator. Had to drag 50lbs of luggage up to third floor up a winding staircase. Limited amenities, old rusty kettle to make coffee in the room. Housekeeping never changed the sheets the whole week we were there and did the minimum cleaning and refreshing of the room. Last day of my stay, we had no electricity in the room. Couldn’t use any plugs or lights as nothing worked. Went to complain and ended up checking out still with no power. Paper thin walls. The night before we left, the couple next to us was having intercourse and it sounded like an x rated film. Summed up, very disappointing stay for the amount we payed. Would definitely not recommend. Don’t stay here. Find a better option especially if you’re staying longer that a day. The only good thing was it was close to the train station and there were some decent restaurants around. Otherwise it was a complete dump.

Tiny room top floor even the stairway was grubby room grubby but clean towels so bad decided not to even ask about leaving our luggage here and carried around london all next day glad we only there for 1 night.. avoid

I'm not sure how this property got top reviews, our room was to say the least not clean, toilet door that wouldn't shut correctly, stairs with loose carpets and sunken treads, shower that had mold and broken shower head, saving grace was the staff when we saw them( twice) appeared friendly, i couldn't in all truth recommend this hotel

No fuss overnight stay, beds comfortable, quite a lot of noise from rooms above until the early hours so didn’t get much sleep, decent location for getting into central London, would use again for 1 night but if staying any longer would look at other options.

L'endroit est super, la chambre était acceptable dans la généralité, mais la douche était assez sale et il y avait des taches sur les serviettes de bain. De plus il y a un bar juste à côté de l'hôtel, donc beaucoup de bruit la nuit.

Awful hotel, we didn't sleep all night, it was a complete waste of money. They said they would give us some money back as an apology, but they never did and are now ignoring my emails and texts. We slept in a basement and could hear people ringing the doorbell and checking in as if they were stood right next to us. Never stay here.

Wasn’t a great experience for how the charge. There was hair everywhere in my bed, dust everywhere and the carpet wasn’t clean either. A group of people came in on the second night and were very noisy and inconsiderate of everyone else. I took photos and videos but decided not to post. However, the night manager was very nice and understanding. He apologised for the state of bed and changed it at around 10pm.

The location is fantastic, so handy for Kings Cross and St Pancras stations. The staff were excellent, super friendly and helpful. It's not the Savoy, but for the location it's a perfect place to stay. I'll be back again

Great service, location and welcoming staff
Fab location close to St Pancras and held onto luggage for us which we dropped off early and left there after we checked out. Asked for extra pillows for the kids and they bought some right away. Very friendly and accommodating as they were last time. We will be back again no doubt!

The bed was comfortable. An ideal place to stay if all you need is somewhere to lay your head at night. Ground floor room was very clean and warm. Only fault was that the private bathroom, which is padlocked, was upstairs which isn't ideal for someone with an injury/disability.

We spent a night at Apollo and it was perfect for our needs. 1 adult and 2 teens all fit in the cosy room with ensuite and service was friendly and helpful. Great location for British Museum and Kings Cross, we walked everywhere.

Good location but not recommend
One good thing about this hotel is close to kingscross station. There was anyone in the front desk, you got gave the front door key and in-out whenever you want. Which means guest can bring anyone. When you check out, just leave the key at front desk. We saw the man at front desk only checked in, even that time, no one was at the desk and we had to call the number on the frond door. We felt very insecure and didn’t feel safe when we were in the room even the doors locked. Also because of no-one at the front desk, we were not able to leave our luggage. It was very inconvenient. Bathroom/toilet were very smelly, we needed to use the air freshener otherwise too smelly to stay in the room. (Windows could open so we did as long as we could but needed to shut in the evening) Sheets and bedding are clean but shower/toilet area wasn’t that clean, hair(not mine) mulled was in the shower cubicle. I could say I chose this hotel because of the location and price. I had stayed around there as similar price hotels but this hotel was worse experience. I will never stay this hotel again.

The room was very small as was the double bed. The door into the bathroom didn’t close. The carpet wasn’t very clean. It was shabby and many things didn't work although fortunately the shower did!

Wasn't a great start to our week
Our room on our stay had 4 lamps above the beds. 3 of them had no bulbs in and the other didn't work. 6 spotlights in the ceiling again 1 didnt work. Had a mouse in our room all night that was running around, noone to speak to ask desk is unmanned at night. The only positive note was that the bed was comfy.

We chose the hotel for its closeness to Kings Cross station. We arrived early & thought we’d ask if we could just leave our heavy bags. The receptionist was very kind & helpful & found a room that had already been cleaned & allowed us to book in early which was extremely kind. We found the room ideal for our needs. It had two double beds & en suite shower/toilet. Also kettle, tea/coffee iron/board tv etc. as we’d gone for the Queens funeral we wanted to get into central London quickly & appreciated the offer of being allowed to book in early. In the end London was so busy we decided to book out before we’d even spent the night there but we did call back for a shower & warm drinks before leaving. We would stay there again if we had another trip to London.

Room was a family room for 4 but we struggled with 3 of us size wise. No space to walk around at same time. Bathroom very tiny and not enough space to change in. Beds were comfy, staff friendly and helpful. Had to ask to clean room etc after 2nd day even though advertised as daily housekeeping. Great location to Kings X

OK if you only want a bed for the night
Stayed for two nights with my wife and kids. Was very basic. Only ever saw one member of staff on check in and nobody after that. Other guests noisy after hours. No food or drink facilities in hotel apart from Tea and Coffee in room.
