"The room was tiny. The bathroom was so tiny the door closed on the toilet as well as the shower room door. The beds were like water beds no support at all. I asked for a fan for the room and was no we don’t have any. When i asked for extra pillows i met with a sigh and told if i can find some i will get you some. The breakfast was all overcooked. "We received such a warm welcome at The Boars Head. It felt like everything in the room was really high spec. Loved that we had a stocked fridge (you had to pay for most items, though!) with free milk and a free dram each, too! A espresso machine with good choice of coffees and tea bags. "Loved the patio door in our room leading to the garden outside. Havent had this before and thought it was just lovely. I had my dog with me and he enjoyed being able to go in and out . Hotel room was spacious and staff were friendly and accommodating. Would definitely book again!"

"Away from the main city . Hotel location is quiet silent , lot of green farms behind the hotel.Hotel building is very old but well maintained . Hotel foods are very nice also the staff’s are fantastic and very helpful. They can improve cleaning in parking area and external stairs and inside corridors. "This is a hidden gem. Yes, it is a shared bathroom, and as an American that was strange to me, but it was a private one and well maintained, with toiletries provided. My bedroom had a sink which was also useful. It's <10 minutes walking to the train station which is also nice. The train into the Edinburgh Waverly Station, center Edinburgh, departs every 20-25, minutes and takes around 30 minutes into Edinburgh. My room was large, with a large screen TV, Hot water kettle. No mini fridge. No elevator. My room faced the backyard so it was quiet. The window opened a little to let in fresh air."
