The service was exceptional, the staff were super helpful and professional, unfortunately the location of the hotel is near by bars and Main Street so I couldn’t really have a good sleep due to noise from outside.

The location is good—walkable. It’s a bit tricky for Uber or Bolt to get to because they’re technically not allowed on the block the hotel is on. So I have to get off around the corner and walk over. The bathroom is a bit old, there’s mildew on the caulkings. The bathroom is big but the shower is tiny. Walls are not soundproof—you’ll hear ppl talking, having sex, the pipes between the wall. You can hear ppl walking upstairs. It’s loud and unfortunately it’s not a great space for light sleepers.

Great location in the downtown core, rooms were spacious and water (shower)was nice and hot, lots of pressure which I prefer. Only negative is that it is a bit loud, streetcar and people walking into the early morning making noise, otherwise… very nice! Staff was very friendly.

The property & amenities are basic at this hotel . Room was mattress / box spring on the floor. Very small. No phone in room to contact front desk. No coffee maker - kettle in room with 1 pkg of instant coffee ( for 2 people) Positives - location is great for walking around . Pink street & time out Market is min away. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Great location near the main square and a main transit station (Caise do Sodre). Also, easily walking to pedestrian/tourist areas. Friendly staff and clean premises. Only issue is that the breakfast room is located up one flight of stairs so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Dear Elizabeth, we really appreciate your comment. As the building is old and part of the World Heritage Site, we cannot make any changes to this aspect. In these situations, at the customer's request, we can serve breakfast in the room. However, there is an elevator with access to the other floors. We hope to see you again soon.

Great place to stay, good location, lovely staff
Great place to stay. Lovely friendly and very helpful staff. Great clean rooms and comfy beds. Great breakfast, with good choice and always freshly filled. Wonderful location for all the sights and transport links. Close to waterfront, landmarks and shops. Historic building with lift. The hotel is located in a flat walkable / accessible part of the city with taxi access outside.

Nice hotel
Hotel was nice. Good location. One thing to check is when bolt/Uber drop you off, the app takes you behind the hotel which is a long way from the entrance. Nothing to to with the hotel but bear in mind if travelling from the airport.

Big roomy apartment
Was a good little apartment but a few things to consider. The internet didn’t reach to the bedroom. Also for some strange reason there were a lot of mosquitoes in the room at night and we had to keep killing them. I’m not sure where they were coming from because we didn’t open the window and I didn’t see any in the city. Other than that it was a big apartment and a good location. But there was construction in front of it so Bolt had to drop us off pretty far away.

The property is very well located, is close to the turist places, but is noisy and hot (AC is not working perfectly and automatically turns off after a period of time) if you are in the rooms that are close to the street. I was there twice the second time room was in the back, very nice and quiet.

Highly recommend! Perfect location to walk anywhere in the city, 1/2 a block away from lots of shopping, and dining areas, and a 5 minute walk to the bridge, or river. Spacious apartment, that had everything we needed!

The property was so close to everything and the metro stop and many bus and trolly/tram stops. It is very convenient however it is on a very loud street. We struggled to get our air conditioning to work night one so we had to sleep with the windows open to get a breeze. The beds were not comfortable at all.

Really disappointed. A/c did not work during my stay. All the time switching off after sometime. Informed receptionist everyday but problem was never solved. Soap never left in shower as it seems it did not work. To make it even worst cleaner never left any toileteries. I had to go to receptionist everyday and report this and was given some toileteries. Really disappointed with this hotel.

Nice room, but too noisy - Hotel in wrong location
The size of room was adequate on the only positive side. The service was not so good, towels were replaced only after asking at least twice, even if left on the floor in the morning. Breakfast served after 8 in the morning, which is too late when on a business trip. The comfort in the room was terrible and it was almost impossible to sleep. Air conditioning continues to stop without a reason and, more importantly, the room is upfront a secondary street which unfortunately has tram passing by until half past midnight and then starting again before 5 in the morning.

The Aresenal Suites cant pretend to be a hotel, because it does not operate as one. It’s rooms are large and the location is great. Then troubles follow. The sheets are cheap. One towel had holes. No soap/shampoo in shower dispenser. And noisy. The noise level on the 1st floor won’t let anyone sleep. It’s louder than nyc during rush hour, Asking for a different room caused even more stress. The staff is rude, I’ll prepared to handle anything and beyond repair. Any change is met with an excuse to ask for more money. When I complained about the noise I was told: “the web site clearly states that this is a noisy hotel- but despite that you chose to stay here. If you want a quiet room you have to pay for that”. Probably the worst stay I have ever had. I was so tired I could hardly function. No sympathy, care for customer service nothing. Clean, I would rate a 3/10. Fixtures missing. A tv hung so high it would make little sense to watch and furniture that looked to have come from a dumpster. Old and tarred is not in fashion now. Would stay far far away from this nightmare if you want to enjoy your vacation or at the very least sleep.

Great location. Near both metro stations. Two blocks from the river and plaza de comercio. Walking distance to everything! Very clean, nice comfy room good decor. For the price this hotel was really great ! Newly refurbished with a fridge and kettle. However the bathroom was slightly dirty when I first arrived with dug on sinks and I had to hold the kettle plug into the wall for it to work. The cups and coffees didn’t get renewed either the whole time I stayed there and there was no milk. However I’m sure if I just asked they would have happily assisted with that. The balcony view was a bonus, very nice. At night however it was noisy to sleep if the balcony door was open as the hotel is on a road. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful ! Overall great service and I would stay there again.
