The hotel is indeed charming as it's name. The location is good close to Barrio Alto, Chiado and Baixa Bica areas. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is lovely. The only con (for me its a big one) is that the walls between the rooms are paper thin and the floors are extremely squeaky so every movement is heard from neighbouring rooms and from your own room. If you get up for the toilet at night you are sure to wake your partner up :/

We loved our stay. The bed was very comfortable, the staff was excellent (especially Roberta!); the breakfast and breakfast room were beyond expectations, beautiful hotel in general. Great location. You can't hear noise from other rooms but the hallway traffic in the morning is audible.

Wow! We slept in 3 different places in Lisbon as part of a long trip, and this is the best! The place is very clean, and it's homey! Service and attitude we haven't seen before! It has an excellent location and one of the best breakfasts. Only downside is the stairs, but it's totally worth it

Our stay at Dear Lisbon Charming House could not have been better. The hotel itself is beautiful, rooms and communal areas are just lovely to spend time in. The location is excellent, we were able to walk to so many attractions and restaurants - we could have spent our whole stay just enjoying the local neighbourhood without venturing further. The staff were also amazing and attentive - Miguel who welcomed us on our first evening made us feel at home straight away. There are also lots of extra touches that make guests feel important - arranging our airport transfers (on request) was a big help, and we REALLY enjoyed the pasteis de nata waiting for us in our room on arrival! We'll definitely be back and will be recommending to everyone else in the meantime.

Perfect place
This was the best hotel me and my boyfriend have ever stayed in. The service was beyond anything we could have ever wanted or expected, from the welcome drink by the pool, to hand written notes / pastries / port each day. All the staff were so friendly, welcoming and attentive. The hotel itself was a serene, beautiful and peaceful place tucked away in the most perfect location to walk everywhere we needed. Would definitely stay here again and again!

This hotel is a hidden gem. It is in an unexpected location up a steep and narrow street (which is most streets in Lisbon). The location was perfect for exploring the city and right on the tram 28E line -the classic tram around the city. We were in room 13 which overlooked the pool and garden. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The buffet breakfast was lovely and included pastries eggs bacon meats cheeses fresh fruit 4 different juices coffee tea and specialty coffee on request. The staff were top notch. So helpful with recommendations directions and when we needed to contact our airline they called and spoke to them for us given that we do not speak Portuguese at all. We highly recommend this hotel.

We had a fabulous stay here, the staff work incredibly hard to ensure you have a high standard experience. We had a lovely room with lovely air conditioning and a fantastic shower. Breakfast was gorgeous with something for all. Amazing coffee too. Our room was cleaned every day. Thank you charming house we will definitely be back. Charming is exactly right. The staff was just wonderful throughout our stay, especially getting us to the airport and helping when our flight was cancelled! Perfect location in the middle of an old district. A tiny alley with unassuming door opens into the charming little collection of rooms, aromatic common areas, with small rooms with delightful views of the city. Loved it!

Lovely stay in Lisbon
We reserved the junior suite garden view and it was perfect. The room was clean and spacious and overlooked the pool. The breakfast was quite hearty with many options including some of the best scrambled eggs you could ask for. The staff were all friendly and attentive but Inez was especially helpful. Not only did she give us recommendations for lisbon but she also gave us recs for Porto and Coimbra. We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip and we're so glad we did.

Great service, very helpful, attentive and friendly, eager to serve. Nice place! Only negative was sound insulation. Quiet away from street noise which was good but floors and stairs creak so loudly you hear everyone coming and going including late night.

Favourite spot in Lisbon
I can’t fault Dear Lisbon at all! Staff were so attentive at check in and during my entire stay, the room was so clean and made up every day, breakfast was delicious and the common areas such pool, reception and lounge were cosy, quiet and peaceful - a perfect place to relax after each day exploring the city. I would highly recommend this guesthouse!

Dear Lisbon - Charming hotel was a perfect place to stay for our 4 day visit. It’s really central, close to lots of amenities and the 28 tram runs just by it. Staff are lovely and so friendly, they arranged hotel pick up very efficiently. Great breakfast and everyone staying there were very friendly. A home from home!

The best option in Lisbon!!
An absolutely wonderful hotel in a great area of Lisbon. Beautuflly designed lobby and rooms. Really friendly staff - particularly Innes and Stefano - who went out of their way to make it such a memorable stay. The breakfast was awesome and I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough..

So en route to Lisbon from New Jersey I f fell down stairs & sprained my ankle. Ricardo the front desk guy/ went above and beyond to accommodate my handicapped needs. He went multiple times to the store to get ice for my foot and ibuprofen. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody that wants to visit Lisbon. It’s in a cute neighborhood about a three euro Uber ride to just about any restaurant.

Too expensive for the lack of service and respect
On our first evening, after running the AC, we had crumbles all over the floor (it looked like poops…) On our second evening, I had to go ask for more shower gel and shampoo and the employee was unable to find some shampoo for me. Note that the cleaning staff never put new shower gel, soap or shampoo in our toilet. Also, even if the policy about water efficiency and hanging the towels if we didn't need new ones was told to us by two staff, we got new towels everyday. Finally, after we had left the hotel early in the morning with no staff to be found, we were accused by email of stealing the hair dryer that we never had in our room.

A Charming Place to Stay!
Fantastic stay from start to finish. The Staff cannot do enough for you & are so friendly, knowledgeable & helpful across every area of the hotel. The buffet breakfast was very varied & there was plenty of food, which was replenished all the time. I would definitely recommend booking Charming House - Dear Lisbon for your stay in Lisbon. A friend from Porto recommended us to stay here. Overall it was a good pick. Things to note: Reception is not 24/7, they have another property nearby that is 24/7 that you can call if you need something, however, there are no phones in the rooms so you'll need to use your cell phone, not ideal for someone without a European cell plan. Breakfast area is quite cramped and busy, there is a patio which is nice, although, typically filled with smokers. The breakfast itself is not fancy but it was OK, 1-2 fresh fruits + frozen/thawed berries, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, pastries/bread, cheese & cold cuts, coffee & tea. It was all fresh, but nothing is made-to-order. The location is excellent, very convenient, we didn't experience any street noise, but you can hear your neighbors in other rooms coming and going and talking in the hallway. There is no elevator, stairs-only, not a problem for us, but possibly for some. Overall, it was a good stay without any problems for us and we'd stay again.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. We thought the location was very good. Decent breakfast and plenty of it. The property is decorated stylishly and eclectically. However, our room was very disappointing. I asked for a garden room but once in the room, you couldn’t see the garden. The room (ground floor right at the end of the building) was gloomy and dark and backed onto the street which was noisy particularly the first night when it sounded like crates were being thrown around. The bathroom was awful with a lot of black mould in the shower. There was no seal on the bottom of the door so the floor got soaking wet and the concrete floor has started to break up. When we arrived the toilet seat was broken and on our final morning there was no hot water. Generally, the property needed more attention: dead leaves not cleared up and in the pool; needed painting inside and out. There’s no comfortable chairs in the garden and the patio sofa and chairs had no seat and back cushions. The garden area gets very little sun so the pool is freezing. It cost us £684 for 4 nights which we thought was really expensive. That particular room should be sold at a bargain price.
