"Great hotel"

"The staff was exceptional. We arrived early before our room was ready and the staff took care of our luggage and directed us to a delightful afternoon tea while we waited. We blew an electrical breaker trying to use an American hairdryer and they promptly got the electricity fixed. They were very flexible with dinner reservations, working around our daytime activities."

"Stayed four nights. The first night we were in the room turned tv on for a bit the off and went out, came back and tv wouldn’t come on, called desk and guy came up and said cord was too short and came unplugged. At 06:50am the fire alarm in the room started shrieking for 3-4 minutes and the message came later saying false alarm. Same morning the sink stopper in bathroom didn’t work, couldn’t fill sink, got it fixed 2 days later. Bathtub/ shower was not good, turn the shower on and within...

"An historic building, convenient to everything on the Royal Mile. Also its lower level entry is super convenient to arrival from the train station, literally across an uncrowded Market Street. Wonderful rooms with sunlight, tastefully appointed. The timely limited access will soon be fixed by a second elevator being installed in the hotel. The staff was always helpful (though the laundry lost two of my dress shirts). I enjoyed my stay immensely."

"Excellent location! Wonderful front desk staff, great bartenders and bar selection. And the room was spacious and had AC (very important since we visited during a heat wave). Will be back!"
