"The hotel is definitely old with limited parking. First impressions aside, it is located on the bay in a quiet part of Hilo. The rooms too were old and had not been renovated in a while, but ours was spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful."

"We liked the room and liked the location - just steps to the Farmer's Market. This is more of a note to Expedia than to the Hilo Downtown Inn. This is the second place we have rented through Expedia that didn't tell us we'd need to negotiate stairs. My wife has trouble navigating stairs. I think the property and Expedia have an ethical and perhaps legal obligation to inform potential renters about the stairs."

"The property was very nice. Great location. The only issue was the laundry room and the dryers not drying your clothes. The tv service was spotty which I think was due to unstable internet.
