Great location for stopover when using Lille Europe or Lille Flanders, very easy walk from both. Welcoming, comfortable and the room we had gave a great view of the St Maurice church tower from the bed and the bathroom!

The hotel was convenient to walk to from the Eurostar station. It was easy to get to the main square for the Christmas market. Breakfast was good though there was a selection of cafes not too far away in which to get a café and croissant. The room was small. There wasn’t much room to get in and out of the bed. The bathroom was large and airy.

A lovely little hotel very convenient for Le Grand Place and Christmas market. Room was small with a small bed that had a too hard mattress on it. Good breakfast buffet

This is a fantastic hotel in the rich tradition of European hotels. The public spaces are comfortable and welcoming, there were several couples playing card or board games upon our arrival. The Staff are very good, very helpful and always ready to offer directions or suggestions. The location is ideal, close to the main square, shopping and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable and very clean.

It’s a very competitively priced boutiques hotel, as they say in politically correct English. The location is good, and the staff is supper friendly, but if you are looking for more convenience and better amenities, I would choose something else.

A winner in location and friendly service! I would definitely stay with them again if I return to Lille! Clean and eased my worries about the recent bed bugs news. I had a good rest which was the goal of this trip! Thank you for having me!

Check in was a little uncomfortable as we were told that we owed for two nights even though we had already paid for one. We weren’t given any information ie Wi-Fi code etc no breakfast included even though it was a hyped price due to rugby World Cup time

Beautiful old charm hotel, wooden floor in the room, view of the cafedral from the room on the 3rd floor, nice big windows. Comfy big bed. Very good simple french breakfast.

This is a wonderful old Art Neuveau place, well-maintained, updated as to plumbing, etc., and featuring a vintage elevator that gets you and your luggage where you're going. We had a view if St. Maurice (next door,) that couldn't be beat, and found that everything we needed was close by in the shopping streets and shady squares of Lille.

There were seven of us staying in Lille at The Bruegel hotel all having separate rooms. The check in was very good and efficient. The Bruegel hotel is well situated in the city only a 10 minute walk from the Eurostar station and easy access to the metro. There is plenty to do in Lille, shopping, sightseeing the Palais de beaux arts is well worth a visit. Lastly, there are many restaurants so there is no need to go hungry.

Close to amenities a bit noisy
Average 3 star hotel, clean, very helpful friendly staff and good breakfast. The rooms are small we asked for a change of rooms because of late night noise at the church side of the hotel, this was dealt with by staff with very well by hotel staff. All said a comfortable city centre hotel.

A gem with a few flaws
First, the bad. This hotel is very basic in what a hotel is supposed to offer: a place to store your belongings, to sleep for the night, and to maintain oneself (bathing, toilet, etc.). This hotel provides these things, but only just enough to pass. For example, there's a bed, but no headboard. There's a shower, but barely enough room to turn around. There's a desk, but it's tiny. As I said, the basics are all there, but it's all just barely passing. Another negative are the thin walls. You can hear others in the rooms above and adjacent. For me, it wasn't so bad during the day when everyone is out and about, but you could hear everything. This can be problematic if you're a light sleeper. A final negative is the wifi. I could only connect one device at a time, so I had to choose between my phone and my laptop. But now let's get to the good stuff. The first thing is the location. This hotel is literally in the middle of it all. As soon as you step outside, you could go any direction and you'll be on your way to the sights and sounds of the city. This hotel is one block from where the "main" action is in Lille, and about a 10 minute walk to Vieux Lille. Next is the staff. The people who work at this hotel are absolutely wonderful. They're very welcoming and friendly. With 62 rooms, I was impressed that they remembered who I was and what room I was in. So, in all, if you're just using your room as a place to store your stuff, sleep, and shower, this hotel is a great choice.

A pleasant stay with friendly team
We had a nice stay last weekend. The checkin was very efficient, all of the staff were very friendly and the room was very clean. Our only issue is that you can hear other guests very clearly in the hallway at all times of day and night. Otherwise, it is comfy and great location for getting around Lille.

Although the rooms are small they are clean and enough for a few nights stay. Would have liked a kettle but plenty of cafes around instead. The hotel is in a fantastic position with all the town easy to access by foot.

All we needed for the weekend was within easy walking distance of the hotel and the Eurostar station was a ten minute walk on pedestrian only streets. A very quaint old hotel with some modernisation. Standard rooms are small but OK if you’re not spending a lot of time there.

Pleasant, welcoming hotel, centrally located.
Very pleasant place, and centrally located in the town. Quite small, a little quirky - tiny lift for instance. Staff on reception very welcoming. Rooms fine but not exactly huge. We had a "superior" room - our friends standard rooms were quite small. We did find on the last day that ours had a damp patch behind the bed where water was seeping though the outside wall, which was making the pillows damp - we did report this, but it wasn't good. Hopefully it will be sorted out soon. Pleasant breakfast, although the buffet area was crowded and the tables rather squeezed in. One of the staff on breakfast duty could do with a little training on developing a welcoming attitude! But it wasn't a big deal. Overall, it was quite good value. I'd be happy to recommend and to return.

Old charm in need of modern bathroom
We stayed at rue ghee hotel for 3 nights for a long weekend in Lille. It is very well located being very close to the Vieux Lille, the restaurants and the sightseeings. Our room was facing the square and it was warm, so with the window opened it an get noisy. Most staff were welcoming but not all! Hotel has a old charm but rooms could benefit from a refurbishment especially the bathrooms.

Lovely, old fashioned hotel with excellent, helpful staff. Very convenient location. Ongoing building works, directly outside of the hotel, were very loud and disruptive. The hotel could have informed us before our arrival. The hotel is in a pedestrian area, direct from the station and is very noisy through the day and night.

Sadly yes there is some building works outside for a few weeks, and the hotel is in the center of the town so beside the advantages (3 minutes from the train station) there is noises, we do have rooms located on the back of the hotel for a quieter stay (better to know for the next time!) Short trip to Lille
Not my usual sort of hotel to stay in but worked out pretty good. The only thing was the noise of bathroom plumbing from other rooms seemed very loud!

Very charming hotel. Very good (French) breakfast = delicious bread & croissants. It was a small inconvenience that there was only a bath, not a shower. My fault - should have checked it before. Environment (streets) are very noisy during evening/night : so, bring your ear plugs.

The hotel is charming. Staff is nice. However ... when we arrived, the hotel had no reservation for us... They could not find our booking.. The room was very clean, with a comfortable bed but very very tiny. The bed was stuck between the walls. A bit tricky when you are claustrophobic ! Bathroom is lovely but very very small with no door : zero privacy and not pleasant to shower when the other person is watching tv or sleeps! Good point : separate toilets. There was no wardrobe, zero space to put luggage. We had to ask for another shower towel as there was only one. I think this bedroom is intended for only 1 people, not a couple. They sold it as a double but i wouldn’t say it's a double.

Great location, noisy if it's raining
Warm & comfortable. Excellent location. Shame the rain hits the zinc trim around the roof - we were on the top floor - & was thus very noisy outside the window during the night. The hotel was not to blame for the couple in the next door room who had a blazing argument until 6am one morning; true, they were French, but that is not an authentic holiday experience one would relish.

Mini-series hotel
We arrived to find a film crew occupying the foyer so had to fight through a crowd of actors to check in. They were making a mini-series about Charles De Gaulle who was born in Lille. It was all good humoured and we got a key quickly and took the (ancient) lift to floor 6. The room was quite small and the shower cramped but they were clean and modern. It was OK for one night.hey
