First, the bad. This hotel is very basic in what a hotel is supposed to offer: a place to store your belongings, to sleep for the night, and to maintain oneself (bathing, toilet, etc.). This hotel provides these things, but only just enough to pass. For example, there's a bed, but no headboard. There's a shower, but barely enough room to turn around. There's a desk, but it's tiny. As I said, the basics are all there, but it's all just barely passing. Another negative are the thin walls. You can hear others in the rooms above and adjacent. For me, it wasn't so bad during the day when everyone is out and about, but you could hear everything. This can be problematic if you're a light sleeper. A final negative is the wifi. I could only connect one device at a time, so I had to choose between my phone and my laptop.
But now let's get to the good stuff. The first thing is the location. This hotel is literally in the middle of it all. As soon as you step outside, you could go any direction and you'll be on your way to the sights and sounds of the city. This hotel is one block from where the "main" action is in Lille, and about a 10 minute walk to Vieux Lille. Next is the staff. The people who work at this hotel are absolutely wonderful. They're very welcoming and friendly. With 62 rooms, I was impressed that they remembered who I was and what room I was in. So, in all, if you're just using your room as a place to store your stuff, sleep, and shower, this hotel is a great choice.
