Really wonderful accommodation. Walking distance to town. Not a hotel but a guest house in a refinished and vibrantly appointed (200 year-old?) historical home newly acquired and attentively managed by Sandra, Michael and son Valentin who were the most welcoming, engaging and thoughtful hosts imaginable. Large, beautiful rooms. Breakfasts were lovely, and we really enjoyed the option of one of Michael’s incredible dinners. Really happy to have found Maison Mulato. If you go, make sure to spend a little quiet time just being at the house.

Our stay at La Maison Mulato was a wonderful experience. The owners, Corina and Laurent, were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful. The interesting interior is decorated with excellent taste. Outdoors was beautiful, peaceful, and a wonderful place to enjoy the outstanding breakfast we were offered (our only regret is that we forgot about breakfast on our first morning). We would highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting the area!

Relaxing stay

It’s. Like a giant French home and you are the guest. The space is lovely and well located. Breakfast was served at a time you request and served for your party on the patio, deck or dining room. Small pool and sitting area. Easy 15 minute drive to St Emillion. Try dinner at Cosy Tourny, just down the street

Don’t know where to start , fantastic and easily the nicest accommodation of any we stayed at in France. The owner hosts are very nice and have done an amazing job with this property. Five rooms in total avaiable for guests , it never felt crowded or uncomfortable. Beautiful gardens and pool to relax and enjoy close proximity to restaurants and a five min walk to the famous Libourne Market. Parking out front free on weekends 5.00 euro on other days . The complimentary breakfast was incredible and easily the best we experienced in our 26 days in France . Libourne was a 10 minute drive to St Emillion . We loved the family dog Tango he was very gentle and affectionate, the rooms are very clean everything was refreshed daily .

Owners Laurent and Corrine and their furry co-hosts Sir Tango and Titi were all so incredibly welcoming! My husband and I stayed for three days on our honeymoon, and after a rainy week in Paris, our stay at the Maison Mulato was a breath of fresh air. We enjoyed a delicious and substantial breakfast every morning on their beautiful and tranquil patio which gave us all the energy we needed to explore the area. Libourne is a cute and fairly quiet little town but it was the perfect spot to use as a home base for exploring Bordeaux and St. Emilion. We enjoyed chatting with Laurent and Corinne each morning, and appreciated all their recommendations and help throughout our stay. We are so thankful for them welcoming us into their beautiful home and would absolutely visit again. Highly recommend for a quiet and peaceful getaway.

Corine and Laurent’s attention to detail, care and impeccable design skills are shown in every aspect of the maison, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. But what really made our stay unforgettable was the personal touch they both added to everything. From the conversation over the delicious breakfast to the helpful recommendations, they both made us feel like we were more than just guests. It's clear that they have a passion for hospitality and creating meaningful connections with their visitors, and we feel fortunate to have experienced it firsthand. Nous avons séjourné dans l’appartement juste à côté de la maison d’hôtes. C’était parfait: silencieux, propre, moderne et décoré avec soin. Et que dire du petit déjeuner servi le matin, à l’heure que vous le souhaitez soit dit en passant! Meilleur déjeuner de tout notre voyage! Les hôtes ont su nous accueillir chez eux comme dans un hôtel prisé. On m’a même aidé à monter ma valise en haut des escaliers! Des petits détails qui font une différence. Merci encore!
