"I had a very pleasant stay at Lake Wanoka. One should note that this “resort” is more like camp with some nice cabins/efficiencies and spots for RV’s. Not at all luxe. Which is more than fine. I prefer low-key. It was plenty clean and the folks working and visiting there were very nice. It’s also not on a lake. There is a cute little pond to splash around in next to the kids’ splash pad but you’ll have to drive to get to the lake. Otherwise the cabin was nice enough and the environment was plenty pretty for a short stay."
