"The property gave off Best Western vibes. The carpet was old, the rooms were a mix of traditional and modern. That can be done well, this wasn’t. Our air conditioning was broken, so they put a stand up unit in the room which worked but was loud and meant we had to keep the window open for the hose to vent. The hotel offered us 2 free drinks because of the inconvenience. No lotion or anything more than shampoo and soap in the bathroom. The towels were small, relatively thin, but they were nice...

"The hotel is very small (maybe 16 rooms) and right on the old port. You simply cannot beat the location. Check-in was a bit unusual, as the reception was not open for check-in until 3 pm. There is an option for an earlier check-in for a small fee but we arrived right at 3. There is no elevator and the initial stairs up to the reception area are steep. "A lovely little "bed and breakfast" style hotel just a fifteen-minute walk from the centre of La Rochelle. The hotel was clean and well looked after, and perfect for our needs. We arrived earlier than planned (around 1pm) and were unable to find parking on the road outside the hotel, but we parked on the road along the seafront and it was fairly cheap for a few hours. I was then able to find a parking space outside the hotel at around 5pm and moved the car. A nice stroll back from the centre...
