This place is where you want to go when you need a vacation from your vacation. The kaiseki dinner/breakfast was truly memorable, each dish/bite left me wanting more. Chef Sinji Kobayashi is truly talented! Our room was spacious and onsen overlooked a spectacular view. The amenities and staff’s hospitality were above our expectations. Would highly recommend!

Perfect getaway
From the moment we set foot into the ryokan, we felt like we were able to relax completely thanks to all the amazing service of staff at the hotel! We booked a western room with private onsen- the room was spacious with modern elements, very thoughtfully designed and very welcoming. For our dinner kaiseki meal, it was one of the best meals we had while we were in Japan. It was meticulously designed from the flavour, to portion, to how it was presented. It left a lasting impression on us. The same goes to breakfast, it was simply delicious. We booked a private onsen at the hotel, it was an outdoor onsen attached to a little house with a resting areas filled with amenities. We had a great time there too! Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, and if we could, we would definitely stay for 2 nights next time to fully enjoy the entire experience. P.s. photos don’t do justice for this hotel. It’s super beautiful.

The Resort was an amazing, magical experience from start to finish. The greeting, room and clothing preparation was lovely and quick with enough time to get clothed and set up before dinner. Each course during dinner was prepared beautifully and despite some fear around what we might be served everything tasted just as mind blowing as it looked. The drink selection we were given paired perfectly with the food and the personal touch of the chef coming mid way and asking our opinion about the food was perfect. Our personal waitress had a great sense of humor and did very well at explaining how to properly eat what was presented to us. The grounds were beautiful and helped settle us into the restful state of mind we needed. The private bath you can reserve was well worth it and the perfect temperature to relax in. I would gladly return for future stays here again. Thank you so much for the amazing stay!

The stay at the Yunohana Resort Suisen is a great experience for any one who wishes to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The property was clean and tidy. The staff were all nice and helpful. We booked an open air bath room because we have tattoos but they do have a public osen for public use. We recommend this resort.

This was our first time staying at an onsen and first time traveling outside the city in Japan. The staff made everything so easy and welcoming. We traveled by train and were picked up at the station by the hotel shuttle. The area surrounding the onsen is so beautiful and quiet. The room was amazing and much larger than expected. I highly recommend a room with a private bath. Dining options are limited but we did not explore outside the hotel. We enjoyed the kaiseki style dinner. It was a very unique experience and would love to try it again. The staff provided exceptional service and really made the whole stay so much better. Would stay again even if just for a night.

Love the food!
The resort is very comfortable, the room decor is a little old but it's very clean. The onsen is very comfortable! Our room overlook the zen garden which is very nice! The food is amazingly good, the chef also came and greet each table near the end which was very nice :)

I spent ages looking for a luxurious ryokan with a private onsen in the room (or the option to rent) that was near Kyoto, where we could experience a traditional dinner wearing kimono. I initially hesitated because of the price but it was worth every penny! The service was outstanding, from the shuttle that picked us up at the station to the sweets and origami gifted at check out. The service is outstanding! The room exceeded my expectations. It was large and there was an abundance of toiletries and free snacks and drinks - you'll want for nothing. We needn't have bothered packing any clothes because also provided were beautiful pyjamas, towelling robes, more slippers and a yukata (light kimono) that you could wear outside of the room. I expected to find a hair dryer but was surprised to find curling tongs and a facial steamer in the room. After using our gorgeous private outdoor bath, we made our way to our couple's massage. The two masseuses were gentle, kind and spoke excellent English. Although expensive, it was very good and I’d recommend it in conjunction with the spa bath! Our kaiseki dinner was a banquet and we had our own private dining room. Our waiter made an effort to explain every dish in English. There was about 12 courses and we each had a tailored menu - the resort took real care to understand our likes and dislikes. We had a peaceful sleep too, the bed and pillows were so comfortable. The next morning, another banquet awaited us for breakfast - outstanding.

Best Onsen Experience
We stayed a night at Suisen Yunohana and it was absolutely amazing. The hotel contacted us prior to arrival to arrange shuttle from Kameoka station. The check-in process was the best I’ve ever seen. We were greeted with sweets and tea. The room was a lot larger than the usual room you would find in Japan. We had in-room onsen so we didn’t go to the public one. The dinner and breakfast was delicious. If you want to experience a decent onsen experience, this is the place to go.

The staff were very hospitable from the moment we were greeted at the train station by the shuttle driver until we were dropped back off at the train station after our stay at the resort. Would definitely enjoy staying there again. I also liked that they were emailing us before our arrival to all us about certain things to make sure our stay was to our liking.

Incredible stay from start to finish. Beautiful property that was beautifully maintained with cherry blossoms blooming right outside our window. The service was on another level, and we thoroughly enjoyed the multi course dinner. Definitely worth the splurge for the night!

My husband and I booked this ryokan for our honeymoon and we couldn't have been happier with that decision! We got a room with a private open air bath with a scenery of their garden. We took more baths in one day that I ever thought I would take. It was so relaxing and scerene. The room was huge and had so many complimentary amenities that it was impossible to use for only one night of stay. The level of attentive service was amazing! Every member of the staff makes you feel welcome. We couldn't speak Japanese very well, but they made sure to do their best to understand any request we had. The kaiseki dinner was delicious! The breakfast was amazing as well. There was so many different little plates of food that we didnt know where to start!

I love this Onsen Resort
The place is really beautiful. We got really pampered by their service from check-in to check-out. From booking the shuttle service to the meals are seamless. Good internet, amenities and snacks. We can see that they put a lot of thought to make our stay very comfortable

Amazing Ryokan for a romantic classy getaway
The icing of the cake... Or the smooth cream of the parfait in my view. I can understand why people come here again and again for the food. It is also by far the best ryokan experience and best customer service. They are very prompt, helpful, friendly, and go beyond the expectations. Dinner is essentially a kaiseki, top of the class Japanese fine dining experience. The private onsen is a must, in particular during cherry blossoms for a romantic experience. The place was very roomy, with high quality amenities that you can take home for free. Drinks and alcohol included and refreshed daily. Also... That amazing 1.5L free water bottle, which we didn't end up using, but it's definitely a nice touch. The only downside is the limited shuttle buses available, which is understandable as dinner takes time. So, if you want flexibility of going to and from the ryokan you're better off driving or taking a taxi.

Amazing experience Yunohana Resort Suisen Jan 2018
Once in a life-time experience, but hopefully not the last. I've never experienced such excellent personal service from everyone from the bus driver through to the front and back of house staff. They all must us feel special! The kaiseki menu over the 2 days, breakfast and dinner is eye-opening and absolutely delicious! The room with the personal outdoor bath was very special and worth getting. The private batch onsen which you can reserve for 50mins at a time is also a definite must-do. Outside the resort, we rented bicycles from a place near Kameoka station and rode to all the 7 shrines, it was a beautiful day and highly recommended if you like cycling. It was about a 3 hour slow bike trip.

Such a wonderful stay at Yunohana Resorrt Suisen! I liked the place, atmosphere and spacious room. However, the area of hot springs and the time for access are limited. It is highly recommended for a couple of stay there!

Nice hot spring hotel
Hotel staff was great as they offer full service right before you entered the hotel until you entered the room. Room was very clean and good in size even for four people. Would strongly suggest for couples who would be looking for a private place for hot spring and families seeking for a nice runaway from the city life.

Clean and new room. The hotel is generous, all the drinks and snacks are free in room. The dinner was perfect. Just the location was a bit inconvenient but there is free shuttle pickup at Kameoka station.
