As soon as you enter the hotel there is a feeling of luxury. The staff are very welcoming and you and relax once you get to your room. Lots of amenities and I loved the bathroom! A large bath with a separate shower was great. Not a lot of storage space but it worked fine for us. Tried the breakfast one day, it was tasty and lots on offer but a little pricey. There are communal baths however tattoos are not allowed so I did not enter. Great location, close to Kyoto station and lots of restaurants in the local area. Overall, I had a great stay and would recommend this hotel.

Nice location and facilities, loved the skincare pack and traditional Japanese traditional pajamas. Lots of shopping malls and restaurants within walkable distance. It is however a bit pricey given that we were able to find a decent 3-start hotel with similar facilities and conditions at half price.

Great stay, great amenities and helpful staff
Great stay at Rihga Gran Kyoto. We booked the 2 nights the day before the stay having let down by other hotel. We dropped off our luggage at 07:30 AM to which the hotel team was really helpful to keep this for us until check-in time. The room wasn’t spacious, storing multiple large luggages at the standard room might be a struggle, but the room has everything we need so very happy with it. It is modernly decorated and has all the amenities we need. The bed was comfy and absolutely love the deep bathtub & shower setup. Love the tea set also! Overall based on our stay we would come back to Rihga Hotel chains again.

It's vey close to Kyoto station, which makes daytrips to all the sightseeing super easy. Also the hotel provides service for luggage storage if you arrive earlier or have late departure flight. You can still do fun things without dragging your suitcases around.

Clean property with all the necessary amenities. The hotel itself is beautiful and decor is aesthetically pleasing. Shower rooms are spacious and rooms are reasonably sized (for Japan). The location is top notch—close to great restaurants and train stations.

Housekeeping needs improvement
The front desk staffs were great but the housekeeping is a disaster. Opted for a full housekeeping but apparently it is like a half. Cups wasn’t washed. Bed wasn’t tidy properly.

Our stay was amazing. The receptionist at check in was welcoming, spoke english and was very thorough explaining everything about the hotel at check in. We were lucky and our rooms were ready so he let us check in early (we just wanted to drop off our bags since we arrived at Kyoto early so that was a pleasant surprise). Rooms where very clean, staff was nice too. Rooms were cleaned by the time we returned for the day. Its walking distance from Kyoto station. Only downside is that we booked 2 rooms and for some reason the wifi in one of them would not work. Other than that our stay was great and we will for sure be back.

I loved our stay here. The staff was super tourist friendly and the facilities are clean and quiet. Beautiful aesthetic. Walkable distance from 7/11, train station and bus stop! The rooms were a little small but in Japan things are smaller!

First rate hospitality! We were looking forward to our stay at Rihga Gran & were not disappointed. We left our bags & checked in a little later at check-in time. I had mentioned that it was our 1st year anniversary & your staff looked after us well & included a little gift of some royal pudding. Our room was spacious & loved the Japanese style bathroom with a separate shower & bath. Staff were always friendly & courteous. We also enjoyed the communal baths, first time for us to experience. Another bonus was the drinks & coffee/ tea station we could use between 10am & 5:30pm. We look forward to staying at Rihga Gran again in the near future & will recommend this hotel to all family & friends. Thanks for making our stay a memorable one.

We booked a premium deluxe twin room for first 2 nights and then moved to a smaller premium twin room for the next 2 nights. Both rooms were spacious, clean and nicely designed but only the deluxe room came with an extra bed and it was comfortable even for an adult. The location is about 5 min walk from Kyoto station so it is very convenient with a Family Mart nearby. The only annoyance was other inconsiderate guests not collecting their laundry causing long waits for the washing machines.

This property was great but my only recommendation is to ensure you book a better category room so you have a window. We had booked a room not knowing it had no window only a light well…..4 nights not being able to look outside did annoy us! Location is great very handy to Kyoto Station.

Very close to Kyoto Station (5 minute walk max). Super clean and comfortable. While the room is small (to be expected), the split shower & tub area is spacious. Love the ability to check the crowdedness in the communal bath and availability of laundry facilities. They have wash & dry units located on 3 floors. But each wash & dry cycle takes 2 hours and can get very busy at the end of the day! Overall, very enjoyable and will definitely stay here again!

The entrance and the escalator to the third floor lobby is breath taking. The 3 layer box breakfast is quite a culinary experience every morning. The rooms are well decorated in traditional Japanese decor. The shower/bath tub combo is great for guest who do not want to use the public bath.

This hotel was a great experience, it was so close to the Kyoto station, so don’t have to worry about the transportation! The staff was super friendly and the rooms were a great experience too! Love the beds and the bathroom - will def come back!

Nice modern hotel, the only thing I didn’t like was that the rooms are very small and didn’t had a window. But you can live with that for few nights. Otherwise the hotel was very nice and modern.

Property was clean and very nice. Staff treated in very nice. I lost breakfast tickets, but they were able to reissue them. Breakfast was great. The only issue we had was dinner. It was overpriced and very little. We ended up go out eat after.

loved the super clean rooms and the laundry. you can see the time left on the washer/dryer on your TV and you can see how busy the spa is. water every day in the room for free. ice machine!!! drink and ice cream vending on the floor. super convenient next to the train station. curry place accross the street. the breakfast was great, buffet with eastern and western options.
