The hostel itself is very small and quite basic (i.e. Small kitchen, limited bathroom facilities etc), however I found that given the small number of people that could be staying at any one time this was in no way a problem. The place actually had a very comfortable "home-y" feel for that exact reason, and was one of the most authentic places I stayed my entire trip.
The staff where top quality (and I mean THE best) in every regard. Assistance with transport, suggestions on site seeing and meals, and a ready boiled kettle every morning were just the start. Some home cooked traditional Japanese food, social drinks, and friendly chats over diner at the end of the day were even better.
Ignoring everything I've already mentioned, the place is also extremely close (walking distance) to many site seeing locations, with a bus stop just around the corner for anything further afield.
Could not recommend highly enough
