Good location.
Convenient location, friendly staff,cheap bike rental. It is a bit run down. The staff are very helpful but I would spend a little more and get a much better value elsewhere.

Charming!
Extremely helpful staff who called up Shinkansen services to locate a lost bag. They went out of their way to find it and where incredibly friendly throughout the stay! Traditional style house which adds to the feel of staying in Kyoto, good central location within easy walking distance from buses and subway networks to all the various temples you might want to see. Very simple! It seemed like they’d been doing it well for a long time :)

A bit run down in places, and the double room was quite cramped with an old bed, but apart from that our stay was okay. Staff were helpful and the building was beautiful and well positioned to Nijo Castle, bus routes and Kyoto Station (by bus/taxi).

Worst hostel I've stayed in ever.
The front desk workers were all catty, rude, spoke little English, and weren't helpful at all. They wanted us to wait ten minutes to check-in after we had been waiting for hours because they were "busy doing something". The walls are paper thin, not enough toilets for the amount of people staying there. Don't stay here. Overpriced and you can find better.

Friendly staff, interesting place to stay
I had a fantastic stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The building is quite small but i enjoyed it because it was still in the traditional Japanese design. Its a short walk to various forms of public transport and close to various sights to see.

Great hostel in central Kyoto near both castles. Nuri and the staff were friendly and accommodating. My only complaint was the size of the bicycles for rent, but you can rent down the street.

The staff was helpful and welcoming - very friendly--spoke English also which was fantastic. Room was cosy - the whole place was so cute! Free tea and coffee and just a nice place to be-really would recommend and stay again.

After having backpacked Asia and Australia for 2 years we both agree'd this is the best place we have ever stayed. The staff go above and beyond to make your trip in Kyoto one to remember.

Staff are absolutely great and very helpful. Hostel is small so be prepared for some slightly cramped, uncomfortable and hot nights if visiting during the warmer months. Had an amazing time tho none the less!

Very impressive Traditional house hostel!
Kori and Fanny were amazing! They give us some recommendations and been really friendly! The whole house was extremely well located from the city centre of Kyoto.This was my first traditional house I have slept. The small inside garden and was made very spiritually.We hope we can meet again soon :)

Small but exceptional hostel in Kyoto
A true hostel. Rooms/bunks are small but comfortable, showers and facilities are very nice, and best of all the staff were superb. I will stay in this hostel again when I come back to Kyoto.

Lovely little traditional Japanese house
Hostel Mundo Chiquito is a great little traditional Japanese house, with traditional rooms. The location is ideal, within a short walk to Nijo-jo castle and other sights. Also very close to the bus stop. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is also a little kitchen for preparing breakfast/ lunch/ dinner and lots of nice restaurants close by. The only negative is our bed wasn't very comfortable but besides that, great base for exploring Kyoto :)

Nice hostel. Top quality staff. Close to sites
The hostel itself is very small and quite basic (i.e. Small kitchen, limited bathroom facilities etc), however I found that given the small number of people that could be staying at any one time this was in no way a problem. The place actually had a very comfortable "home-y" feel for that exact reason, and was one of the most authentic places I stayed my entire trip. The staff where top quality (and I mean THE best) in every regard. Assistance with transport, suggestions on site seeing and meals, and a ready boiled kettle every morning were just the start. Some home cooked traditional Japanese food, social drinks, and friendly chats over diner at the end of the day were even better. Ignoring everything I've already mentioned, the place is also extremely close (walking distance) to many site seeing locations, with a bus stop just around the corner for anything further afield. Could not recommend highly enough

Great time at Mundo Chiquito
I was looking for just a place to sleep. This was the perfect choice. It was like a capsule hotel, you have your own space with a space to place you belongings. I stayed four nights and everything went well. It just depends who gets to be in your room and how loud they are. Most of the day, the place is empty. People working there were always willing to help. Free coffee and tea.

Pleasant stay
When we arrived we had a issue with the room payment, however the staff were very understanding and helpful. Very spacious room for two people and in the center of Kyoto so it was easy to get around using the hostels bikes. Were also kind enough to do our laundry in house for only 300 yen. Very nice and got along well with everyone. Also had a bar nearby with excellent food and drinks.

駅から歩くけれど、安いです。
急な宿泊についても対応して下さりありがとうございます。駅から歩くのが難点で部屋からトイレまで中庭が見えます。外気の温度がそのまま伝わってくるので冬は寒いです。 到着が遅れても夜23時までは対応してもらえるのは良かったです。ゲストハウスならではの低料金はたすかります。

宿泊後の感想
京都社会福祉会館に近く、料金も手頃なので何度か利用させていただいています。入浴設備の痛みがひどくシャワーしか使用できません。近くに銭湯があるので気になればそちらで入浴すれば良いと思います。 大型スーパーや飲食店が近くにあり便利です。 ベッドは二段ベッドで高さが低いため体が大きい人は使いにくいかも。 以前はA4用紙に複数分の宿泊者情報を記入するようになっており、他人に個人情報を見られる状態でしたが、アンケートを通じ意見を言ったら用紙は以前と同じものでしたが、完璧ではないが他人に個人情報が見れない工夫が行われていました。 受付の人が毎回違うのが少し気になりました。

ベッドサイドの壁とマットの間に髪の毛や埃の塊が落ちていた。 また、ATMのレシートやコンビニのレシートもあり、その日付は２週間前のものもあり大まかな掃除しかしていないと思われる。 コミュニティールームの窓に網戸がないため、そこを使う場合、虫や蚊が入ってきますので虫除けスプレーが必要です。 全体的に、価格相応だと思います。

如果是想體驗很貼地的舊式居住體驗 是值得一來的. 格調就是一個舊日式居所. 不要太期望非常舒適. 與其他住客互動感覺良好 這個是最大優點 有限預算會是個不錯的選擇. 房間基本都不隔音 就像是其他住客活動的聲音也會聽見. 但我個人不太介意. 淋浴間的衛生情況是遠低於日本應有標準. 會有淋浴間常見的小昆蟲. 房間是沒有暖氣 所以秋冬時間強烈不建議入住. 除非你很習慣冷天氣體質.

교토 특유의 이쁜 거리에 자리잡은 아담한 호스텔
일단 직원들이 너무 친절하고 마치 친구처럼 대해주어서 고마웠습니당. 버스로 생각보다 시내에서 멀지도 않고, 호스텔을 찾아가는 길거리가 너무 예뻐서 좋았어요. 날씨가 추웠기 때문에 방이 생각보다 추웠던거와 샤워실이 1층에 있어 따로 이용해야 한다는 점은 조금 불편했지만 그 모든 것 보다 즐거운 기억에 남았던 스테이였습니다. 이불이 너무 푹신한게 좋았고, 작은 정원이 아름다워서 좋았어요. 무엇보다 일본식 다다미방에 묵을 수 있어서 좋았습니다!

Nice hostel close to Nijo Jo Castle
I stayed there for two nights and it was clean with friendly staff. They offer bike rental at cost of 500 yen a day. The bike is a plus and its worth trying as Kyoto is very bike friendly. Cycling along paths and street with ancient Japan building around you is a wonderful experience. Getting to the hostel is easy by bus from Kyoto Station.

コストパフォーマンスが良い
スタッフが親切でコストパフォーマンスが良いです。バスを上手に使えば立地も気になりません。建物全体が和風なところも京都に合っていて良かったです。道路側に面していた部屋だったので車の音が気になりました。

Guest house en etat plus que moyen, douche a prendre a l'exterieur, matelas a ressorts vraiment horrible, cloisons des chambres qui devait etre faite en papier...accueil neanmoins sympa et chalereux et bien place mais nous en recherions une nouvelle la prochaines fois
