The Not-So-Good:
Unfortunately, my check-in experience was disappointing. I had called the hotel the day before to inform them of my 1:00 PM arrival and asked if early check-in was possible—offering to pay extra if needed. They assured me it wouldn’t be a problem, which was especially important as I was traveling with a baby and hoped to settle in before her nap.
Additionally, I informed them that we would be arriving by boat at the back entrance and requested assistance with our luggage. They confirmed support would be available, but no one came to help. Despite all these prior arrangements, we were made to wait 2 hour and 40 minutes past the official check-in time of 2:00 PM.
Another issue arose with my room booking. I had reserved a different room through Expedia, but upon arrival, I was given something entirely worse, I tried contacting Expedia multiple times, but their customer service was unresponsive and unhelpful. While this appears to be an issue on Expedia’s end, it remains unresolved, and the lack of communication with Expedia mainly
The Great:
Despite these issues, the hotel itself is a good place, especially for families with children. The staff were kind, the food, and the facilities well-maintained. One standout was Christian Ramírez, one of the hotel directors. Originally from Cuenca, Ecuador—a city known for its highly educated and warm-hearted people—Christian embodies all those qualities and more.
His professionalism, attention to detail was superb !
