Very sweet people running the place and a clean, affordable room. This is an amazing spot if your traveling through Krabi town and just need a clean, friendly simple place. She helped us get a SIM card and book our next taxi too

No attitude on serving customer
1. Unpolite service attitude especially front desk 2. The aircond no cooling , we let the aircond at ON condition but the staff take out the hotel card when we are not the room without any information.Feeling unsafe since our important things inside the room 3. Request hot water but the front desk give us bad face 4. One day wifi provided ONLY

Nice quiet hostel!
Chanchalay was a great little hostel! The facilities were clean and the location was awesome. Staff was really friendly and helpful. There’s no wifi in the rooms and the common area closes at 10pm which was a little inconvienant. Showers were also freezing cold. There’s not much of a atmosphere but we just came off of phi phi so it was nice to have a bit of a break from socializing. If your looking for a clean, quiet and easy stay I would for sure recommend chanchalay!

Thanks for a great stay!
Overall a great stay. Place is kept clean & really well maintained even though 15yrs old from what i read of other reviews. The design & colours of the hotel is very comfortable to the eyes & makes you feel relaxed. Even the bathrooms are quite enjoyable!

Very lovely rooms. Bright and spacious. Location was convenient. Even though it’s a hostel with no housekeeping, it would be appreciated to have sufficient toilet paper.

Good hotel
We came here after a jungle trek so the comfy bed, hot shower and clean rooms were amazing. Staff were friendly and we had a great nights sleep with good aircon! I would recommend this hotel :)

Helpful Hotel Staff and Spacious Room
Gorgeous design. Love the colours of blue and white. The toilet is very big! The room was very spacious as compare to the other hotels I stayed in krabi. It's close to a few cafes, bistro, bars, family mart, 7-11, krabi river and night market. The staff was very helpful, I had informed them that we will be checking out at 5am due to an early flight and they had even assisted us in reminding our driver to pick us up to the airport.

Awesome location, cheap motorcycle rental across the road. Close to walking markets and river. Clean rooms cute decoration. We didn't get breakfast there but reasonably priced. Nice bathrooms. Would go again defiantly. Great value for the price. Not a very social hostel if that's what you want though. Stayed for 3 nights. Check out was 11 but they let us keep our bags and hang around till 4 when our shuttle came.

Stay here!
We stayed in Krabi one night to be closer to the airport after staying in the islands. We loved this guesthouse - it was perfect! The staff were so friendly and the rooms were so clean and cute. We stayed in a private one bedroom with private bathroom and it was like a little cottage - we loved the outdoor shower, comfy bed, AC and location to the night markets.

I had a room with a fan. They were intense fans. AC would have been nice, it's a bit more to get a room with AC. The property was so cute and clean. They helped us book some tours, and were very nice and a great helping with all my tourist questions. I had breakfast there too for a fee, it was tasty!

Cosy guest house for a pleasant two days in Krabi
We were a couple and we've had a pleasant experience. The guest house it's clean and the staff is nice. It's really nice decorated, cute and cosy. We spent two days here, but this guest house it's also good for longer periods. It's centrally positioned in Krabi town, really good if interested to move and visit Krabi region and krabi's weekend market, a bit far from Krabi's famous beaches and seaside. Anyway at walking distance from the guest house it's really easy to rent scooters or get taxi. If going again in Krabi I would certainly go back at Chanchalay

I loved my stay at Chanchalay!
I was traveling with 7 friends and we all had the pleasure of staying in chanchalay. We adored our stay at this super cute place, and we loved the town. Having just come from the phi phi islands it was such a nice, relaxing change of pace to be away from the hustle and bustle. The night market was super close and was phenomenal (slight smaller than i expected?) Also a tip - GO EARLY! we heard it was open until around 12am, so we decided at 9 to circle back over to grab some food and it was completely broken down by 10:30pm (no more vendors at all!) The entire city actually shuts down on the early side, but prior to late night drinking you'll have no shortage of things to do while here! Highly recommended.

The staff was phenomenal. They have a big place that they keep very secure and clean. Breakfast is cheap in the morning. They unfortunately do not have a nice sitting area to enjoy the sunshine in.. but the town is fun to explore and walk around

Good Location
Just spent 3 nights and had a great time. Friendly hotel staffs, cozy environment & great Thai Food. Will go back again. Hope hotel will have bicycle rental in the very near future to discover Krabi Town in bicycle.

Nice place to stay
Stayed for 2 nights until we made a plan for what next , lovely little hotel very clean and our room was lovely Mediterranean feel to it , open air shower was great in fact it was the best shower we have had in 2 weeks nice and hot with good power , we arrived late so everything was shut up but the security guard was there and he had our key for the room . Great location for the night market and boat to railay, nice little cafe in hotel and staff were lovely and friendly .there was a bit of noise from the bad karaoke singers from the pub at nack but as son admitted windows closed couldn't hear anything

The room is great but the reception is not good, the hotel beside is the one who help us and explain about tours, I tried to inquire but the young lady dont understand when I said I want to inquire about the tour package repeat it 5x and point the board with boat schedule STILL she dont get me and ask me write in on paper when I wrote it she just point the brochure without explaining how to get it.

Girl in reception very surley and unfriendly when we asked to change rooms as the bed was very lumpy and hard. She refused until the manager came along who was helpful and allowed us to change. One member of Cleaning staff very rude.

Cosy and clean guesthouse
We stayed in a triple room. Spacious, clean and super comfortable beds. The only downsides was that there was no safety box. But aside from that- perfect!!!!

Reasonable price with cool designed building
I really love this hostel! Such a shame I only manage to stay there for one night. The 7-11 need to cross two junction and there is a nice massage shop beside it. Must try it if you can. But the hostel only provide towel and shampoo and bath gel, excluding kettle, toothbrushes, toothpastes so do remember to prepare your own. Overall it was worth the money.

Fantastic value for money boutique hotel
I'd describe this as a boutique hotel rather than a hostel. A lot of thought has been put into the decor and design, and the deluxe double rooms represent amazing value for money at £15 a night. Wifi worked well throughout, service was great, only thing that would've made it perfect was an inclusive breakfast in the attached restaurant.

Great Value For Money
We booked very late notice as we had decided to leave Koh Phanang a day early due to the rain and not wanting to waste a day. We got the deluxe room with air con for around $20 dollars, the room was fantastic, the bed comfortable and the shower had great pressure which cant be said of the whole of Thailand, only stayed a night but would have been perfectly comfortable for a week, the room was clean and an absolute bargain at the price, the staff were also extremely helpful!

It was a good stay overall. With very clean and comfortable rooms. Even shared washrooms were excellent. One can easily stay in the shared rooms if they are on a budget. If you want more privacy one can opt for superior rooms. Superior rooms are very cozy and romantic as well.

This hotel stand out!
Krabi has more accommodation than you can imagine. Everyone seems to have a room, a taxi service and tourist info. Chanchalay Guest House stands out because it is elegant without being pricey, cool without being obnoxious and quiet without being like a seniors home.

Too many insects
I picked this place because of the good reviews. Rooms in Krabi seem quite expensive (Island prices despite not being on an island) so I was expecting something quite nice for the money. My room was large and quite attractive, with a small seating area out front overlooking a pretty courtyard garden (basically the rooms are connected by a wide outdoor hallway, and there is seating in front of each room in this hallway). Beds are very hard but the room was clean. It however wasn't well sealed (there was a one cm gap around the edge of the window frame, and another one under the front door) meaning insects could easily get in. Moreover, the room seems to have been home to two different ant nests (two different species) - vast numbers of ants came into the room at night. They got into everything - I got up in the early morning and found everything I own covered in ants. My clothes, my camera, my toiletries (they've gotten into my sealed toilet bag and were all over my toothbrush). I had to spend 30-40 minutes in the morning brushing ants off everything I owned and picking ants out of my bra before I could get dressed. And when I quietly complained to the front desk, the owner rolled her eyes at me and sighed, like I was being unreasonable by expecting my room to not be swarming with hundreds of ants. They just handed me a can of ant fog and left me to deal with them myself, rather than offering to move me to another room or take care of the problem. Not really impressed.

Great little guesthouse in Krabi Town
If you are looking to explore for 2-3 days in Krabi, this lovely guesthouse near the pier and centre of town is a great base to wander the nearby markets and get to surrounding areas. My partner and I were made to feel very welcome by the staff. The fan in the room was more than suitable to deal with the heat, and the outdoor shower was amazing! Would definitely recommend staying here. Great room in a lovely town away from the chaos of Bangkok!

Great place to spend one night on yr way
Great budget place. I booked a room with shared bathroom and the bathroom and shower was SO clean. Very close to the night food market. Amazingly nice staff. I'd stay again

Great guesthouse and real value for money.
The guesthouse is conveniently located close to many bars and restaurants. There are also plenty of travel options within walking distance from the guesthouse in getting to Aonang and other beaches in Krabi. The accommodation is very clean, comfortable and certainly represents excellent value for money. There is also a good offering of Thai and Western food which is reasonably priced. I would definitely stay again when visiting Krabi town.
