Shower was only cold water. It’s located at busy area. It means convenient, but noisy outside. Staff was friendly. I don’t have any complaints aside from cold shower.

WORTH THE PRICE
It was great! The toilet was clean enough to use and simple utilities such as soap and towels were provided. Air cond was in great condition as well! TV was outdated with only 1 grainy channel but that's ok, we used the guesthouse fast wifi instead. No parking was provided so opt to park elsewhere and used grab to the guesthouse.

Room not ready. Service bad. Have to ask for towel, soap and plstic bag for rubbish bin. When check out at 5.30am no one at counter. Leave the key on the table and i just go. Main entrance door unlock. So anyone can go in anytime. Cc tv yes but still not safe for travel solo esp female.

The reception is not very helpful,then they dont have any ideas to locate our parking lot. Seriously,the rooms is very stinks,got cockroach,below sinks got alot of black stains which means the room didnt clean for long time.the picture is not same like real life.its not recommended

Excellent service, near markets
Allowed to leave luggage before going for Mt. Kinabula climb and room already ready (with luggage inside) on return. No drinking water and amenities limited in room. Cable TV indicated in Hotets.com is limited to local free channels only - very poor signal. Hotel on 3rd floor and heavy luggage will be a problem. Room is spacious. Toilet and cleanliness acceptable. WiFi is very weak but usable from room is they are around reception. For price paid, its value for money. Great view for rooms facing the main street.

Good hotel location and value for money
Excellent location. Directly opposite the Filipino (night) market and Local Wet (day) market. Lots of restaurants around. Easy walk to Centrepoint (for airport bus), Jetty (Island hopping, diving) and Gaya Street (Chinatown). Able to leave luggage behind when go for climbing Mt. Kinabalu. Room is spacious and toilet OK. Very basic amenities but value for money. Note that there is no free drinking water refill or coffee kettle in room/hotel. But drinking water is cheapest in shop directly downstair (RM 1 for 1.5 L). Hotel is on 3rd floor and maybe a problem with heavy luggage. For good WiFi (slow), better to stay in rooms around reception. Last room in B block cannot receive WiFi.

Hotel view is good. I always check in for this hotel but for this time 1 am not satisfied with the cleanliness, the room were not make up properly, the floor not clean, the dustbin were not empty and water problem in the bathroom. Hope the owner of the premiss will be more careful for the next time.

An okay guesthouse.
Okay overall the hotel was okay. At first, I was surprised to see the area to the hotel was awful. Lots of bad smell, even the staircase was quite dirty but yaa cant blame the hotel. Check in was quick. The frontline guy (I forgot to ask his name) even had helped us to cool the room before our arrival. Niceeeee. As we walk into the room, I was so happy. The room super cleannnnn. Yay! Kudos to the HK team. stayed here for 4 nights and on the last day, the lady at the lobby even helped us to look after our luggage while we’re going for some shopping. Just one thing I that I feel like saying here, about the bathroom. They should have cleaned the bathroom thoroughly just like they cleaned the room. A bit disappointed of seeing the toilet, its not as clean as it should be. Please do something. Overall, I should say they deserved to get 3.75 star out of 5!

Nice basic budget hotel near main attractions
We booked the family room at this budget hotel. The room was quite spacious, and clean. The beds were comfortable and the sheets are clean. The bathroom had a moldy kind of smell in it, but it's clean and have fully functioning toilet, water hose, a water heater and a sink, so we are very happy with it. The staffs are very helpful with tips, and the location of the place is very near to Filippino market (The handicraft market), the seafood place and other main attractions are within walking distance. If you are looking for a very basic and budget room with great location at KK, I would recommend this place.

If you have no other place to go...
There is only one television channel that works and it is not in English and not a very good picture. Internet is terribly slow (a 2 minute YouTube video can take 6 minutes or not work at all). As for me, I need one or the other; cable, or internet (preferably internet). Do not buy ANYTHING (other than drinks) from the shops downstairs; nothing worse than purchasing stale stuff from owner who take no pride in their own business. You can take a bus for just a few ringgits from the airport and walk a short distance to the hotel after asking a few people who will either not know or send you in circles only to find out it is on the same block. The receptionist at this hotel is wonderful though. She was very helpful in answering any questions I had. I didn't complain about anything in the hotels since I understand that I got what I paid for. All of the staff here were great here actually.

Retired American and wife from subic phillipines(U.S. Army). 4 day stay before and after star cruise out of kk. Excellent staff. Friendy, kind, accomodating !!. Cant say enough about these folks. Great price and super location in heart of kk. Stay here if your on a budget. Right across street from all the action.5 star for price and kindness!!! Double Wow...

Stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights. This hotel is directly opposite Philippines Market and a walking distance to several shopping malls. Those without transport will find this place to be suitable as taxi stand is just a few metre away from this hotel. Buses are available a few minutes of walking distance(depending on your destination as the buses stop at different bus stand based on destination - the bus terminal is under upgrading process). Eateries are everywhere around this hotel. Halal as well as non-halal. As our room was facing the road we could hear all the hustle and bustle from the shops nearby. At night time we could hear motorcycles racing around.

Nice hotel close to Filipina market, Jesselton point, suria Sabah, Sunday market and public transport. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, there're many mosquitoes in the room, the toilets were unclean and smelly, the water heater not function well, drinking water in unclean container and no hairdryer provided.

As backpackere we already had low expectations due to the price. The location is great, easy to find and close to restaurants. The room was extremely dirty, bathroom messy as we checked in. The entrance is open from the street, never locked. We asked them to keep our valuables in the safe when we went out, just as the hotel recommended us to by a friendly note. The receptionist refused, as she said the safe was only an open drawer and she did not want to watch it all the time. Nothing got stolen, but we did not feel safe due to lack of security.

Hard to find. Staircase to the actual hotel on the 2nd floor not exactly inviting, but the hotel was tidy and had all the facilities expected of a budget establishment. The room was clean, if a little worn and everything worked. The staff were friendly and helpful and the place felt safe. Not a place to impress anyone, but does the job well enough. Would stay again.
