"The view to Shark Bay was outstanding from our suite. There are 276 steps from the sea to Reception at the top. A great workout everyday. The pool area is beautiful - a small gym served me well. The property is high on a hill top w a steep walk down (or up) to the main road or villages - the property is a ways from the main villages so you’ll need taxi or hotel transport w various drop and pick-up times - the main dining room/restaurant was lovely - great food and service when we choose to dine "

"Perfect if you're just in Koh Tao for the diving and you don't want to stay in a resort. Everything's on the doorstep and just a short walk to the pier. The studio room was good value with comfy sofa and enormous fridge. I only stayed one night just to get a feel for the area, and it's nice and quiet after 10pm, bustling during the day. "The resort had power shut off daily from 10am till 3pm. The safety box did not work. Area to store clothes very limited. The resort is approx 30 yrs old and appears to have nothing done since built. The walkways to cabins are very primitive with very few handrails and some areas the walkways were near high drop offs. We loved the seclusion of the hotel from the busy and more active area and with the hotel offering shuttle service at a very reasonable price, we were able to visit the more active areas of Koh Tao! "I extended my stay at Mango Bay and continued to enjoy the resort as the weather became calmer than the 1st week. As usual, excellent snorkeling and kayaking - typically I had the whole bay to myself in the evenings. Sublime! This is a family run resort, so the longer you stay, the better the the experience. I really found it to be a warm and helpful group of people who genuinely made me feel at home."

"Booked a garden view room, very neat inside with super comfortable bed, mini bar fridge and kettle. Plenty of stairs around the resort which can be a challenge if you have mobility issues but there is no other option for the hotel plus you get plenty of exercise which is good as the resort restaurant serves delicious meals at very reasonable prices. There is also a mini mart where you can buy essentials. You do not even have to leave the resort as the snorkeling is right of the beach which is not too busy. One of the best places we have stayed."
