There's a lot of construction going on but not near the resort which is great for the island. Not many stray dogs and cats as the animal welfare centre has a great program for spaying and neutering. It's quieter and relaxing.

The road where the bars/restuarants etc are have no pavement, so use your phone torch when walking when dark. The Old Town was a great day out

The island is bigger than you would expect. So getting around is a bit tricky. But lots to see.
"We loved this resort. The bungalows were very spacious and clean. It had a nice porch to have a coffee in the morning and listen to the birds. The breakfast was amazing with a variety of foods. The resort had several dining options. We tried a few and loved them all! The pool was very nice as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our luggage was delayed in Hong Kong and the contacted the airline many times to make sure we got our luggage as soon as possible. We hope we can come back to the island and will definitely stay in the same resort."
"We had an amazing time - overall excellent experience. We came to Layana Resort to relax and relax we did. The hotel staff was really friendly and attentious, the grounds were beautiful, the vibe was quiet and relaxed.
The spa was a real treat and we enjoyed the time we spent there getting massages and mani/pedicures.
The restaurant was great (especially the Thai dishes and special menus) and we had all our meals there for most of our stay. Eating by the sea never gets old :)
