"Probably the strangest hotel I've ever stayed at. If White Lotus and The Shining were merged into a singular hotel, that's this place. First, you're stopped at a security checkpoint driving up. It takes five minutes to confirm you're on their "list." You will have to redo this every single time you leave or return. The water in the rooms was brownish. "We stayed at the Karoo Art Hotel for one night on our way to Cape Town. It is a wonderfully restored hotel in keeping with its character. The bed was very comfortable and our room spacious. We had dinner and breakfast there and both were very good, we would definitely return if ever in South Africa. It was nice to safely be able to walk around the town."
