The other downside is the beach, the beach is beautiful but you have to pay 25$ for 2 chairs and umbrella every day if you want to be on the beach. "The buildings are historic and beautifully and respectfully transformed. Our room was in the annex across the street, a family-sized apartment. It was so comfortable and the bathroom was particularly beautifully imagined and tiled. The hotel amenities are great without being over the top. The terrace overlooking pool and beach are comfortable and gracious. Every single staff member we have interacted with has been lovely and helpful. The breakfast buffet is extensive, with Western-friendly choices but also an extensive Swahili selection as well; the lunch we recently ordered by the pool (from the Indian part of the menu) was delicious. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay here again myself the next time I am here."
