Kirkoswald Old Church This church dates back to 1244 and according to legend is the site where St Oswald fought a great battle in 634 A.D. and built a chapel in celebration of his victory. The churchyard contains some very interesting gravestones, including a memorial to Robert Burns' mother's people, and gravestones for the real people who inspired the main characters in Robert Burns' poem 'Tam O' Shanter'.

A nice, clean place to stay. Only issue was the bed which could do with a new mattress as this was very uncomfortable to sleep on. Everything else, including location was spot on. Would definitely use again if mattress is replaced.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable and there was a couple of minor issues but when I contacted the owner he was straight on it immediately. I’d definitely recommend them.
