Enjoyed our one nite stay. Check in was a disaster but only because your computer were down. When I conversation with the receptionist I mentioned that my wife ha a walking disability, your worker immediately changed the reservation to a handicap accessible room. 👏

My wife and I recently stayed at the Southernmost Beach Resort for five nights and six days and had an absolutely great experience! The resort resides at the southern, more quiet end of Duval Street with easy walking access to excellent restaurants, attractions. Thanks to Timothy, a roving host/manager, we upgraded from a cozy king bedroom in the Avalon House to one with an ocean view and a balcony in the main resort. The room was generous in size with great design in the furnishings and color selections and a spacious bathroom design.The bed was very comfortable. We spent several mornings and evenings on our balcony enjoying the view. The breakfast and afternoon snack hours served at the Dewey House (if you opt for that) with serve-yourself selections and made to order eggs were hosted by Ophelia, a wonderfully friendly person who is legendary at the resort. We also enjoyed meeting Alexa, who clearly wears many hats and is always there to see that the guest experience is top notch. Kudos to the remarkably skilled Chef Tay preparing the eggs and other delectables for guests to enjoy throughout the day. Overall, the staff could not be more friendly and ready to assist. Also, the grounds are impeccably well maintained. And finally, a final thanks to Richardo at the front desk when we checked in and out, answering questions efficiently and arranging transportation from the Resort to the airport (by local taxi).

The resort was great, very friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious. Our room, however was very small and the bathroom was tiny. Envision a really nice sink you can barely fit two hands in to wash. A toilet that you have to sit sideways or your knees hit the sink cabinet. The bedroom had nothing you could hang clothes on, no coffee maker, hairdryer, chair or dresser or suitcase holder. It was definitely not as advertised.

Room was too noisey, could not control the temperature in the room. Bathroom was not very clean when we checked in. check in process was a ridiculous evolution that ok half of the first day of our trip. We stood in line for hours to get told we would be comped a room upgrade and it ended up being not favorable. Probably would have had a better vacation sleeping in the bathroom at Taco Bell.

Love that the location is on the quiet end of Duval, but it’s an easy walk to everywhere. The beach is beautiful and we had a perfect sunset view every night.

Very Disappointed. One week before arrival, I received an email from Southernmost asking if I wanted to be on eStandby to upgrade to a King bed- I said yes. The next day I got a call from the resort saying I was being moved to a different location due to renovations and would be upgraded to a King to make up for the inconvenience. They charged me for the upgrade anyway and when I called to dispute it, they were resistant and made a big deal of it as they argued with me over the $112 over-charge. We had a large group of friends staying there - this left a very poor impression with all of us.

The included breakfast was amazing...you got to pick anything you want at a ocean front patio...stay also included beach lounges and towels...really also enjoyed the bar in the pool area... they could do better at responding to repair requests.

The location is amazing with gorgeous waterfront views. The staff is friendly and very attentive. I mentioned it was my husband's birthday and we had a little surprise waiting for us when we arrived. The room was stylish, large, and clean. I highly recommend this resort and would stay here again. The only reason I didn't give it the absolute highest rating was because I wasn't expecting all the resort fees. If you know that going in then you should be fine.

Clean, modern, well kept property. Friendly staff, ample parking. Food was fresh and tasty with a good variety from the on-site restaurant. Wide variety of beverage options (alcohol and non- alcohol). Daily text check-ins by staff were a nice touch to ensure all was as expected. Three pools made it easy to find a spot to hang out if that is how you prefer to spend your time. Easy walking distance to all that Key West has to offer. We plan to return in January and again in July as we were very happy with our stay.

Only complaints we encountered were these; Cleanliness of the room, they only made your bed and replaced towels that’s it and often times didn’t replace all they grabbed to clean. For example a comforter was missing, and robes were gone for several days. We were upgraded to the partial ocean view room from the guest houses and the room we got had a view of the parking lot on the first floor facing north from the south side of the island. Not what we expected. Overall though the hotel was friendly, and had some amenities. Keep in mind for each full day you are there you get charged an additional $55 for a resort fee with a $5 amenities fee as well. Why that’s not included in the room price is beyond my thoughts. The resort was walkable, and the breakfast that was included was a real breakfast and not a continental breakfast. We will be back with a better room placement for sure.

We stayed in the Avalon house. It was a great location and exceptional staff. The free breakfast was amazing. However, the furniture is worn out and needs to be replaced. Several drawers on the dresser/nightstand were difficult to open. The mattress was also worn out and uncomfortable. $40 per night on top of the room fee for parking is excessive especially since you have to pay to park if you go anywhere. Parking should be included when you rent a room. I did hear from a staff member that renovations were being planned. If they make a few updates, I would have rated it a 5.

Duval Gardens is an 8 room B & B that’s part of the main resort, but is a few blocks from the main resort. Easy walk to main resort and far enough away to have more privacy and quiet and has a small pool. Easy walk to all attractions, restaurants and bars. This building could use some updating, but we enjoyed our stay.

We were upgraded to the main property, so I can’t speak solely to the guesthouse, but the resort was very nice! The property was clean, staff were extremely friendly, and most of what we wanted to see was in a mile radius of the property. It was excellent!

Prepare to sweat on 2nd floor
The Guesthouses at Southernmost Beach Resort are pretty nice as you have access to the amenities at the Southernmost Beach Resort plus there is a small pool and exclusive to the guesthouses. The biggest concern we did experience was the varying levels of air conditioning. One of the rooms we had the air conditioning worked very well; however the other room on the 2nd floor barely worked and in July it was very uncomfortable to sleep in. There was also a sizable gap (at least 3 inches) between the door and the floor which didn’t help with the temperature of room. Also providing better instructions on how to work the ac units would be helpful (our assumption as to why the ac didn’t work is you couldn’t run the ac unit and the dehumidifier at the same time but never got confirmation that is actually the case.)

Stayed in the Duval building which was isolated from the main building and the building that had morning breakfast. Overall facility was in a great location for the action on Duval street. Booked through Expedia which did not explain the $ 55 per day resort fee and $40 per day parking - would have been nice to know in advance. Overall good.
