"I cannot say enough about this wonderful property! I don’t usually stay at a “motel” but made an exception and I am so glad we did! A young couple bought this property and are renovating it beautifully! Many thoughtful touches have been added including a fire pit with all the s’mores fixings! "Rustic and run-down. The floors were buckled and coming up. BUT it was clean, and the shower had plenty of hot water for both of us to use. The beds were comfortable and again, clean. The management was very nice and helpful. It is a long way from town; be prepared to bring a bike and walk that bike up the hills. "Room was clean, pool building was clean and best of all the lake view from my balcony. Only thing negative was the dead summer flies all over the place, but can't help mother nature. The staff try to keep up with the cleaning of the flys. My family and I would stay again."

"An absolutely great hotel and location. Very clean overall, rooms had hooks and space to hang and place clothing and bags. The workout facility was one of the best I've seen in a hotel - a good set of dumbbells, pulley machine, and plenty of cardio equipment. A nice pool and the hot tub was outside, but a smaller. A roof patio to take in the view. A small, but ample bar. The breakfast was very good as well and staff made sure it was stocked and clean - coffee was good as well - even had bagels...

"The location was excellent. It’s right on the beach. the shuttle service to and from Sheppler was top-notch service. Housekeeping cleaned our rooms every day. The maintenance guy was beyond amazing. Make sure bonfires and s’mores every night. The breakfast was pretty decent as well. Only minor thing I would mention is the bathrooms were small and the toilets could use an upgrade. Otherwise, it was an excellent day and I would definitely recommend if you want to stay right on the beach."

"We bought our room almost 2 full months in advance to get one of the waterfront rooms; however, when we got there we got a room I had seen no previous pictures of on the listing, and was not waterfront. They said they were fully booked so it is what it is. They provided a shuttle to the ferry to get to Mackinac Island which was nice.
