"We were a bit unsure of this hotel but we’re glad we stayed. It was a hostel that is now a hotel, so our room was quite large, set up with a kitchen, and would be perfect for a family. The bathroom was clean and new and it was all very comfortable. Not to mention complimentary sake and beer! It is across the street from Takayama station, so very convenient, yet on a street that isn’t busy. "

"Had a great 2 night stay. Staff is great and super helpful. Ryokan is located a few minutes walk from the train station, and 10 minutes or so from old town. Japanese breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend."

"Room was excellent in size and cleanliness. Staff was also very courteous and helpful most of the time. The dining room staff was outstanding. The one major faux pas was that my misplaced her walking cane somewhere in the hotel during our initial check in. We were staying for four nights but the cane was not found. However, two days later, we received an email indicating they had located the cane. The message did not indicate where the item was located but we were leaving Japan in two days so...

"Easy to find. Just a few minutes away. Come out of the station, walk ahead past the information centre, cross the road and walk straight ahead down the street. Walk past the 7 Bank and turn left. Hotel is on your right. We received such a warm welcome. We stayed 3 nights. The room was a reasonable size and we could put both cases open on the floor. The bed was very comfortable, water was hot and WiFi good. You can have breakfast downstairs for around AUD18. In the same room you can make...
