The service attitude is not good, which makes the guests inconvenient. I booked two nights and were not allowed to stay in the same room. They asked me to change rooms twice, which was very inconvenient.

Needs major update and remodel
The hotel used to be quite nice, but now seems old and not well maintained. The parking lot has weeds growing all over and doesn’t seem like anyone takes care of it. Linoleum tiles on bathroom wall are coming apart, shower faucet shows rust, doors appear worn and old as if cheap building materials were used in the original building of the hotel.

Rooms descriptions on their website are a little bit confusing. If you get a discount from booking online and you like the area, it is a decent place to stay. If you were to pay full price of what their web listed, then it is not worth it. Staff is friendly. You can get to restaurants in a walking distance and it it close to train station. Hotel does seem old. Due COVID, public facilities are closed, so you get the room and that is it. We stayed only 2 nights and noise from neighbor was a bit disturbing. Staff offered us to change room, but it was over 11 pm. We were not about to pack and move in the middle of the night.

Honestly, the price is reasonable, but the first few pics on the profile are of swimming pools and then they mention, pool closed covid, it's pretty disappointing. Also we asked for an early checkin, no, late checkout, no. Breakfast was pretty mediocre as well. Both of the adults had stomach issues afterwards. And when we asked for dining recommendations for nearby, they had no clue. They said KFC is over there. Overall, it was just kinda disappointing, we chose this place because the pools look fantastic but we will never know I guess.

Garden Villa- good service and fair breakfast
The service was very good overall. I'm satisfied with my room except for the shabby pillows. The breakfast buffet was fine but could be better. The coffee machine probably need to be replaced. The latte and cappuccino looked and tasted the same. I could only give a D for scramble eggs. For the price about 2/3 of that in a typical 4-star hotel in Taichung, I would recommend this place for anyone who will visit North KAOHSIUNG.

Enjoyable staying in Kaohsiung
Excellent swimming pool with crystal clean water. It is very close to HSR Zhouying station. It takes about ten minutes by taxi. Dinner at Shanghexuan was delicious, but there is some room to improve, three seafood dishes we ordered were all cooked with snow beans. Unfortunately, breakfast without coffee.

My family of five was comfortable and enjoyed our stay at the Garden Villa. It was in a great location not far from the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas and the Lotus Lake. The staff was very helpful.

Rude!!! Will not be back to this hotel.
The location of the hotel is good, bus stop is right across the street from the hotel. Hotel itself is nice and clean but I was very disappointed with the management and the communication with staffs. There are no consistency, it is depend on who you talk to, you will get different answers with different people. This hotel also love to nickle and dime you on everything. I have booked a triple room which will accommodate 3 people. Their pillows is awfully flat so I called house keeping to get extra pillow for us & they will only give us 1 extra for free & charge us the other 2. My friend went downstairs to the restaurant to get coffee for both of us, they only allow her to get 1 cup & say no to the second cup. In the evening, we went down to the bar area wanted to order the 2 Gin & Tonic and they told us they ran our of that drink but clearly they have the whole bottle of Gin on the shelf. I have been traveling to Taiwan almost once a year, my impression of them are always very welcoming, warm and has great hospitality. I am not sure if it is because of the political issues going on w/ the US, I was really shock how rude they are since the last time I visited. Overall, the hotel is good and clean if you don't care for customer service. I will definitively won't be back and will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Handy for the HSR
We stayed here as it was close (about 1km) to the High Speed Rail station. The hotel was nice though it is starting to look a little tired in the room - some of the wall paper was bubbling in places. The best thing about the hotel was the breakfast - probably the biggest we had in TW. Hotel is walking distance to the famous pagodas, but everything else is downtown. A great hotel being in transit. They seem to host conferences and the like.

When checking in, staff couldn't find my 2-night booking. Later they said the booking showed 2 1-night booking at their end, so they couldn't find it in the first place. Not sure it's hotels.com's fault or hotel's system has to be updated. Even it's 2 1-night booking, it's under the same name, and they said they couldn't find it, weird. Overall the hotel is good, service can be improved, wi-fi is not stable.
