We travelled in October half term, and several places had shut or were shutting down, which reduced choice in restaurants and shops, but there were still enough open for us! Fira was still heaving, though, as was Oia.

Very stoney beach so painful walking on the beach and getting in and out of the sea. Can recommend taking beach shoes... Sea was crystal clear and very clean. Good choice of beach restaurants and sun loungers and umbrellas are free as long as you also eat or buy drinks from the restaurant they belong too.

Very busy beach, we chose to go to perissa beach which was a little quieter and sheltered from the winds.

Rocks in sea can be slippery. Buy anti slip water shoes and its fine. Available in shops by the beach around 8 euros
