I stayed at Meteoritis Hotel for two days at end of December 2023. It is located in Kastaraki and a path leads upto the Meteora Rocks from right on front of the hotel. Kastaraki is about 30 minutes walking from Kalambaka (where the train station is) or a short taxi ride costing 6 Euros. The hotel and the room itself was clean, the staff nice and helpful. The room was nice and clean. The hotel bar outside the premises was mosty closed though. If you want tea outside breakfast hours, during the day, you can grab a tea/coffee from the restaurant in a hotel next door located on left side of this one. There are also a few convenience stores around. I generally ate at Efrosino, which is 5 minutes walking if you make a right when you come out of the hotel. The Kastaraki village is walking distance and also the Meteora rocks. Atleast two monasteries are approachable on foot. It is a quiet location and good for walking around.

Good for seeing Meteora
It was a pleasant overnight stay. Room was fine but bed wasnt the most comfortable i had slept in but had a good sleep. Shower was OK but not particularly powerful. The bed frame did make a lot of noise when i got up in the night. Breakfast had a good selection.

The location was close to the monasteries and Meteora. The staff were friendly and nice. The hotel is a bit older and could use a bit of updating. The bed was not the most comfortable but it was fine.

We booked at this hotel because the pictures led us to believe that we would see the impressive tall mountains. When we checked into the hotel, the owner man was less than friendly to us so that told a story of what was to come. He didn't even help us get our luggage to our room. Our room was looking at the parking lot and there wasn't anybody else staying on the side of the hallway that the rooms would have been facing the mountains. The room was OK, but the bed was so low to the floor that it was like I was camping. It was difficult for me to get down so lot to get into bed and it was difficult for me to stand up. The bed was about 4" below my knees so take it from there. The next morning our private driver came to pick us up. The same owner fellow from the night before, told our driver that we booked the cheapest room and he was sort of calling us cheap-skates to our driver, which the owner didn't realize that the driver was "our" driver. The breakfast was an extra 8 Euro's, and it was not a good value so we refused to eat there. The breakfast was pre-made scrambled eggs and a lot of cheap bread pastries. There was literally 2 slices of cold ham that wasn't much better than bologna meat and 2 slices of cheap cheese that was supposed to be for two people. Only 1 other couple ate there. When we were leaving the owner fellow didn't even say good-bye to us even though we walked right past him, and the owner fellow was talking to our driver.

Good location for Meteora, pretty basic rooms
We went for the upgraded room based on the description... not worth it. You can see the mountains from the small balcony, but "panoramic" is a bit of an exaggeration. Nice lobby/dining area. Friendly staff. Breakfast was OK. A really good location for exploring the monasteries. Mosquitos were a problem, and they seemed to be coming from the bathroom floor drain. High ceilings are nice... except when you're trying to swat a mosquito at 2AM.

Great hotel with lovely room. Either fairly new or newly remodeled. Very friendly staff and helpful. Kastraiki is more relaxed than Kalambaka, with some good restaurants. Everything walkable. I would definitely stay here again.

Positives The lady on reception was lovely as was the lady serving breakfast. Its in a good location. Negatives The room was OK my view wasn't particularly nice but my main issue was the fridge that sounded like a egg frying popping off through the night, so bad I had to put ear plugs in. The air conditioning was also no existant which with the added plastic mattress protector lead to a very uncomfortably sweaty night in autumn you may cook in summer.

The hotel is in a nice quiet location, beautifully decorated, and the view from our room was amazing. While the shower cubicle was very small, the water was hot and pressure was excellent. Our only complaint was the mattress which was incredibly hard, sagged in the middle, and made a ridiculously loud creaking noise at the slightest movement. It was very difficult to sleep on, but thankfully we were tired enough from touring the monasteries that we somehow managed to get a few hours in. Breakfast was decent, and the staff was very friendly. Overall a decent enough stay, just don’t expect a cushy bed.

The bathroom was terrible... the shower and the toilet bowl were sharing the same space... no window to "close" the box, so water was going all over... the breakfast was good but one staff was there starring at you while you were taking the food, was like that you were not supposed to eat...

We took the best room the hotel can offer and were surprised the bed was not comfortable at all, the mattress felt like sleeping on a wooden board. The toilet paper in the bathroom divided pieces reminding a public toilet and not like a hotel. Overall the view from the panoramic room is amazing! Located in a good centered area.

Stayed for two nights - two rooms booked. Hotel and rooms very clean. Breakfast had a good variety/options. Hotel is conveniently located to the Monasteries w/hiking trails w/in walking distance. Great restaurant choices nearby w/in walking distance as well as the Town of Kastraki. Town of Kalambaka is nearby if driving. Great views from the hotel.

Beautiful, small hotel. Wonderful staff, esp. front desk, they're friendly and responsive. Views from the property were awesome. Owner/boss who was at the cafe by the street was also great. In broken English, not only did he recommend a Taverna that he likes, he even offered to drive us in his car. One small thing though, our bathroom seemed like it has a broken glass door that was not replaced. And since there was no shower curtain, water would splash on to the rest of the toilet area.
