"The room was spectactular and the hotel staff were professional, helpful and friendly. The area around the hotel seemed dirty but the hotel is located acriss the street from the pier area. A rooftop bar, in the hotel building, caused a long wait for the elevator but once we were in our room we enjoyed the quietness of the space in spite of heavy traffic and many nightclubs nearby. "The hotel rooms are constructed at an angle so each person’s patio is very private. The grounds are lovely with a nice pool. There is a restaurant right at the black sand beach edge. They serve a buffet breakfast at about $20 per person. The hotel is in a quiet, safe area. It is on the opposite side of Papeete than the airport. So taxi ride at least $20 from the hotel to the city center. Also from airport to hotel at night it was $50 taxi. I suspect that was a padded fee. "
