The room fan was so incredibly loud that it kept me up most of the night. If it was turned off, it would get too hot in the room. We travelled mid May.
Loved the oversized rooms, 2 bathrooms and 3 sinks! Great floor to ceiling windows and convenient 12 noon check out. Free parking, yummy restaurant and free cookies!
Given the available options and proximity to the ice arena this was a great fit for our group. Decent amenities (pool, workout area, lounge / restaurant etc.). Note you do need a room key to operate the elevators or to open doors from the stairwell. No hockey sticks allowed in the hotel either (as an FYI).
Accommodations were clean and comfortable, staff was very helpful and pleasant.

Overpriced and terrible food. The breakfast buffet did not have made to order omelets as promised. Worse then what you get at a Holiday or Days inn for free.

Did not like that everything at the hotel was an upcharge. Wifi should have been free for guests as well as breakfast.
It was also unclear if the two water bottles in the room were free or not, because the language of the label was confusing.
The restaurant in the hotel took SO long to take our order, and the food was bad. I would not return.
The staff was absolutely amazing at the DoubleTree. When I say staff I mean the staff working at the front desk. They more then accommodated all of my needs . I felt like they went above and beyond to help me since I had 3 small children and could not leave the room without taking them with me. The hotel is exceptionally clean and extremely safe. You can not get anywhere in the hotel without using your key so you don't have to worry about stranger wandering the hotel.
Aftwr speaking with starr with decided to book another night. We paid for the room and went to show the reservation to the desk. The manager the. Tells us due to our autistic daughter dialing 911 on day one he wouldn't allow us an additional night. Hotel staff said the 911 call was no big deal but the manager disagreed in fact he also said we didn't allow housekeeping in along with other lies. He ended up calling the police lying to them by saying we refused to leave. Not recommended based on manger who 2will be reported.
Everything was excellent! Easy to access location, clean & appealing landscaping, easy parking, outstanding front desk personnel, lovely room, HOT water, quiet, very clean, with a terrific onsite restaurant!
Wonderful stay!! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and always made sure we were ok.

Obnoxiously, loud hotel.
I’ve never wrote a review like this before in my life. I’m 65 years old. My wife and I wanted to get away for the weekend that was different. So we went to the Doubletree in Jamestown. After walking into our room, we noticed the carpet had not been vacuumed. Paper wrappers on the floor. With clumps of dirt probably from someone’s boot. The phone had dust on it I mean dust. We’re not impressed. There was no soap in the dispenser in the shower . We ate dinner 2 nights in the pub. Dinner was awesome. The problem on Friday night was very loud obnoxious people in the restaurant. Kids were out of control. No parenting. Those same kids were running up and down the hallways. Very loud. We dealt with it. Just took it on the chin. The second night again. Dinner was awesome. We’re sitting in our room around 8:00 PM. And all sudden the walls were thumping. Couldn’t hear music, I could hear was bass. we actually had to turn the TV up. We were on the third floor. I called the hotel desk. She was very nice. But it seem like she was waiting for my call. She already had an answer to move us. That would not worked out because hockey was still in the building. We didn’t want to be subjected to another night on the floor without a control kids. My question is why would you let your customers be ignored? Because of a wedding. When I checked in, they should’ve told me and made arrangements to put me maybe on the top floor at the end of the hallway.
Internet very slow and required a fee to upgrade to a reasonable speed when your competition, the Marriot does not charge for a fast speed. Charging $2 for a bottle of clean water in the room is incredible! Also your competition fits
Doesn’t charge for water.
On trip staying at the two different properties, the Marriot was a far better value.
This was a last minute booking and we’re glad we made it. The staff was very nice. It just so happened that the night we were there they were having a music event. That was pretty cool. There was plenty of parking. The room itself was comfortable. We went to the breakfast buffet. That was $15 a person. There was plenty of food that was constantly being replaced as it emptied. The coffee was very tasty ( not bitter). We were given a cup of coffee to go. The hotel was quiet and clean.
The hotel and room itself were fantastic. The lack of vending machines and $4 water in the "store" felt a little greedy, as was advertising free wi-fi, only it's not free. The swimming pool was absolutely freezing cold and not enjoyable in the least.
