Great place to stay!

Amazing place to stay. Selina is clean and completely safe as it has security after hours. Jaco walk is easily accessible for lunch/dinner. Selina also has great food options. Right next to the beach and pool is great too.

I stayed in one of the cylinder rooms for my 40th birthday. It was a super unique room and I'm glad I booked it. It still had shared restrooms, but the restrooms were well kept and super clean. The cylinder rooms have an A/C unit as well, so it is easy to get the room down to a comfortable temperature for sleeping. The rest of the resort is also amazing. They have a surf school, nice, clean outdoor pool, and a full-service bar and restaurant. I would absolutely recommend this place and especially the cylinder rooms for anyone looking for somewhere unique to stay.

Amazing location on the beach and walkable to many restaurants. I travelled alone and felt safe. The surfing lessons were EXCELLENT. The staff were so knowledgeable and helpful. The food was also great!

Great space. Tucked away from the main stripe but walkable and close to the beach which was incredible. The black sand and sunset was breathtaking. Common bathrooms weren't always clean. We had to wait for bath towels after checking in. We checked in quite late. We were thankful for the gated parking but it took us a couple of tries to find. Like anything, its difficult to find the first time. The pods were comfy and cozy

My favorite place in Jaco. Not only is it on the beach, it has its own bar and restaurant, as well as a pool. Staff are friendly and kind, truly first-rate. Interesting mix of guests. Free salsa lessons. On-site surfing school. Secure parking lot if you're driving. Pura vida!

The hostel was super cute and colorful I loved every part of the property, the staff answered any questions I had and were nice. The private room was very clean, nice, and aside from the community kitchen, we had a coffee machine and mini fridge in our room. The restaurant and bar on the property had great food and the daily cocktail promos were great. Short walking distance from shopping center, restaurants and grocery store. If you like adventure and a chill environment with a mix of young travelers and families I recommend Selina.

Positives: Very close to the downtown area, where all the shops and restaurants are. Located on the beach, so it's just a short walk away. Has a bar and a restaurant. Includes a small pool. The room has a fridge, and the AC works great. Negatives: Small parking lot. Very small rooms that are dirty (spider webs and flies inside). Bed sheets and towels have stains. No hot water. Their dryer broke, so we went without fresh towels for two days. Overall: If you want to stay close to the beach and downtown, this is a good option. However, if you're looking for luxury and amenities, this is not the place for you. Lastly, room service is offered but they don't do a great job.

Great beach hostel. Visited early November and was less busy and hence wasnt very socially active. The food and drinks are great and affordable and they accept cash and card. Great beach right in front of you. The facilities are good. The only thing that I didn’t enjoy is that they dont take care of the rooms well. I rented the expensive cylinders to get the feel of it but in fact didn’t enjoy much. The space is limited, the bed sheet had bird poop on it and signs of bugs. Couldn’t sleep well at night because of itching and unable to control the ac temperature (may be ac was malfunctioning or I wasn’t able to change its mode and temperature). The staff were kind and helpful in their way.

HOW CAN SELINAS GET ANY BETTER??

every time i come to jaco beach i stay at selinas and every time i stay it just gets better and better all the time. this time they had the entertainment of the DOUBLE tight rope walker over the pool giving lessons. i was not drunk enough to try it myself, but steven was the greatest. oh, and don't fotget aboout the every night happy hour with cocnut water and cacique. did you know that in world wars 1I and II, that they used coconut water for blood transfusions on the soldiers that lost so much blood and there was a shortage of blood supply? well, add that cacique &................probably would not have cared about the wounds. best drink and food ever. best vibe and they may need to expand the kitchen for the hostel kids. such a fun place to be! surfing school has so many peeps learning how to surf! i wish i could post my photos but once i hit send on this review then i can't get them off my phone. oh yea. they use the most up to date use your device to see the menu in order to order the food. i'm 65 but not so tech savvy. but still love to have fun in this old body, so help me get a little fatter by not making me order without the physical menu. even if you post the menu up with erasable prices with one of the cool boards that you can put the super cool BRIGHT colors that face back to back...one facing the 'audience' on poolside, and the other facing inward. hell post them toward the beach too. remind us what goodies you got on the menu! it is always GRE
