Chill vibes, surf oriented hostel.

Great place for young people, especially if you want to go surf. Nice and friendly place. Laid back. Expect music and a youthful party vibe, very chill vibes.

The best rooms are the private with shared bathrooms. The view is great from this room. And the bathroom was always well kept. There is lack of internet in the fully private rooms, etc.

Being a surf hostel, the place is run by young 20 year olds. Which is just something to be aware of in terms of the professionalism and unwarranted sassyness lol. I also thought it was a little pricey compared to its competitors in the area. It wasn’t very busy when my friend and I stayed and it gave off a very cliquey vibe. Other than that it’s literally steps away from the beach and is within reasonable walking distance to the rest of Jacó. Also loved the ample parking for our rental car.

The only good thing about this property is the location. I had a private room. The room looked good when you first enter and it has AC. However, the wifi did not work in my room, only the common area. When I was about to go to bed, I noticed there were ants crawling all over the two beds! There were ants also in the bathroom. I tired to contact the concierge (which are just people in their 20’s working there) but they clock out at 11pm.

Hostel is perfectly located on the beach, pool and bar area are very good for relaxing rooms and overall was very clean, only issue was the pillows and bed sheets were not comfortable

My friends and I stayed in a room with a queen bed and a single bed with a shared bathroom. The room was great! However, there were aunts EVERYWHERE on the wall next to the single bed. I was so thrown off by them and they were in the sheets as well.

I had a great time and I would go back.

I almost didn’t stay at Room2Board— they are VERY Instagram-friendly, and I am not exactly the IG demographic. That said, I am glad I didn’t get scared off! Room2Board was clean and friendly, and they were strict about quiet hours starting at 11 pm, so no worries about pounding music all night. My only two comments are SUPER minor: it would be great if they provided hooks in the rooms to hang up wet/damp clothes, especially since they don’t want you to hang clothes out on the balconies, and the free coffee doesn’t actually start at 5 am like the signs in the room say- it starts at 7 am.

This is such a great hostel. I had a private room with a shared bathroom. Staff was friendly and the place was big, bright and clean. Right by the beach for great surfing. 10/10. Even got to watch nfl by the pool in the big projector Close to a few good bars for night life. Don’t go alone at night. Jaco is high risk if you are out alone at night.

There is a reason why this place is rated “best hostel in Costa Rica”. Clean, cool vibe, really nice pool, great location. This place is fantastic. My only gripe was that the free morning coffee wasn’t more than luke-warm. I’d still gladly go back.

Great location and value

Great hotel! Had happy hour 3 times a day, right by the beach and cheap surf rentals. They even had yoga on the roof.
