Staff was courteous. Interesting building, older room with shabby renovations. Clicker malfunctioned. No hangers. Fan and mini fridge made a variety of noises. Bar uncomfortable. All avoidable with the hiring of a qualified maintenance guy and some updates to lighting, paint, tile, etc. in the middle of the night guy in room above me started talking to himself, moving chairs, stomping around, he yelled at front desk ( also heard by me, do not accept rm 108 for any reason) and continued to rant from 3:20a til 4:30am. It was cheap and there are like 32 bars within walking distance.

Full disclosure - this is a 100 year old hotel so keep that in mind. Room was small, TV was small, little furniture in the room other than a bed. Had to use mini-fridge as nightstand. Back to the bed, the head of the bed was significantly lower than the foot, so sleeping on it was uncomfortable with your head lower than your feet. Didn't try shower as it was long and narrow and claustrophobic. There is no parking at the hotel, you must compete with everyone else for the available beach parking. All in all, I'd rate the property as "tired". Hot breakfast was OK, they do have the waffle maker still. We prepaid for 2 nights but left after the 1st since the bed was so uncomfortable.

Convenient location steps from the beach, clean room, good complimentary breakfast. Room was located on the courtyard; there was a large event each night of my stay which meant extremely loud music in the evening hours (7-10pm).

Mary, the night host was perfect. She made us feel at home. Our room was nice. My husband had a problem with the fact the blinds would not completely lower. The best part of the stay was going upstairs to the rooftop lounge and eating, drinking, and enjoying great music. It was nice to relax after arriving late. We will return soon. Awesome breakfast too!

This stay was a bukket list item for me and I knew wanted to stay around the air show time because they have an awesome rooftop bar. Now the air show was very limited this year and that was no fault of the hotel, but they wouldnt let us upstairs unless paid another 60.00 a person. I get it was a ticketed event but this is one reason I booked this hotel. The air show was only 45 minutes because of the govt shutdown. Its crazy they wouldnt let guests attend. I only saw like 4 people up there. So I get it but i think they could have been more accommodating. They didnt really seem to care that its a reason i chose their hotel. That tells me that they probably really wouldnt care about us as customers at all. Anyway , room wasnt anything special but its still a solid choice if staying at Jax beach for a wedding there. Clean and pretty property. Breakfast food was good.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is 100 years old. So if you want a cookie cutter big Chain experience, this probably isn’t for you. The hotel has wooden floors, and you walk out the back door literally onto the beach. Mary, the staff member on duty when I checked in was incredibly friendly. If there’s a wedding going on during the weekend, it will be noisy because the building is small and old. But it’s unbelievably charming. I stayed in two hotels while I was in Jacksonville. The first was the Hyatt downtown, the seconds this Hotel. I stayed in the Hyatt first. If I had stayed in this one first, I would never have left. I would stay again in a heartbeat. It’s just that vintage-feeling and so very lovely.

Let me just say that i had tried for over a year to stay at this hotel,it was always booked. I booked this stay 3 months ago. I was there in town for medical reasons, i was unaware that this hotel has no/zero parking spaces for their guests, except for a strip mall across the street. I was there during tropical storm conditions. There was also no noise restrictions as the party went all night. Window in the shower is frosted however you can definitely see your neighbors in the shower. Water was draining slowly, removed the bathtub drain and it was full of hair. I also was given 1 washcloth and 1 towel for 3 nights. And the only working outlets were at the bathroom sink and the TV. Do not recommend. Very disappointed.

I loved the ocean view upstairs in the bar and the exterior area, and the history of the place, It is unique. I wish there was an overhang at the entrance to protect you from rain when checking in, unloading and loading your car. The parking was across the street so it felt a bit sketching not being on private property. But that wasn't, as it turned out, a big deal. Some deep cleaning overall is needed. Particularly in the room I was in had dark dust/mold on the ac vent, and the ceiling fan was dusty. That being said everything else was clean and the furniture nice, bed comfortable. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Also, the ac works great and the fridge even has a little freezer which helps keep your ice. The room needed at least one chair. An ice machine on each floor would be nice but they do bring it to you on request--just different. The day I checked in there was an event of 300 people related to a local surf contest. Though very loud, it started at 5 pm, it was amusing and full of very polite young folks having a great time. The good news is the hotel has a hard stop at 10:30 pm. It literally went from the biggest loudest party one minute to complete silence the next right at the stop time. That is amazing!!!! I had a few friends visit that over the course of a two night stay and we had a blast in my room and in the bar. It's a great hotel for people who love the ocean, historical buildings, are open minded, and not expecting one of the "top 40" hotel experiences.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at Casa Marina. Its history and the fact that is about 100 yds from the ocean were the biggest draws. The rooftop bar and its wonderful view were also an added benefit. The staff at the front desk were great - helpful and focused on making your stay memorable. I sing its praises to friends, and as a Floridian, I will be returning after our season winds down.
