Hostess was warm and friendly. Lobby was warmly decorated with amenities of water and snacks/breakfast items I did not expect. The room was clean quiet and comfortable and I loved the the porch to step out and see the stars and smell the clean mountain air. Only "compliant" I'd have and I use that term loosely is that the room had a bit if a musty smell, but considering the reality of the fact that it is an older lodge, the price was extremely reasonable and the location perfect especially with it being walking distance across from the red fox restaurant and 6 min drive to Black Mt it's a minor thing I noticed and acclimated to with no problem. I will most definitely be back!

I read all of the reviews (many negative) before I ultimately decided to book this place because the price and location were so appealing, and I have to admit that I was a little worried beforehand. But we had a perfectly nice stay here. The staff addressed all of our questions and needs promptly, the lobby was cozy and good for having a place to sit and relax outside of the room (with hot beverages available throughout the day, which was really nice), and the location was excellent. Yes, the entire place is physically run down and basic (old carpet, balcony a little out of repair, beds a little softer than I would ideally like, etc.), but it was reasonably clean, quiet, functional, and it worked out very well for our weekend stay. If you are only used to staying in higher end places, definitely don't stay here, but if you are a seasoned and flexible traveler, you'll find this to be a warm and convenient place to sleep at an excellent price.
