It is hard to get hotels in Isafjordur. The Edda Hotel in Isafjordur was simple but we had comfortable stay. It as expensive by European standards with no breakfast included. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.

Great location about 2 blocks from the main downtown street of this quaint fishing town. The staff were friendly but not entirely familiar with services supposedly offered (i.e. stamps and post services). The room was large and clean, and comfortable albiet spartanly furnished, with huge windows. However the curtains were far from black-out, and let in a fair amount of light. Also, sounds carried quite far with all the hard surfaces, and you could hear people walking and talking in the walkways, even though the hotel was not particularly busy. Nordic buffet breakfast was avaliable but only for an additional 2400kr/person, which is rediculous, as an excellent brunch at the nearby restaurant Husid was only ~1900kr/person. Economical place to stay if you need somewhere warm, clean, dry and secure.
OK let’s call it like we see it. This is a boarding school in winter and a hotel in the summer. As long as you know that up front, you should have no issues. Check in girl was nice and helpful. Rooms were good size but basic. Black out shades available. Breakfast avaialable, but I suggest going to a local bakery. Great town. Nice people.
Great overall experience.

Think Holiday Inn from the 60's. Basic comfort and no frills.

Poca cosa
La struttura non si può certo definire moderna e gradevole.,..La camera abbastanza confortevole, bagno piccolo, colazione scarsa
The hotel is a boarding school turned into a hotel during the summer. A little difficult to view from main road. The people working there are super helpful and try very hard to accommodate guests. Surprisingly, this school is more like a hotel with a nice lounge and a mezzanine hall for breakfast. Rooms very clean, linens and towels as well. All bearing hotel Edda's logo. Interesting how these Icelanders are so resourceful. Hotel prices not cheap. But it was the cheapest in the areas. There's not a lot of hotels there. The place is very remote. But beautiful country worth seeing. I learned in this trip that throughout Iceland, many of the boarding schools out in the country are turned into summer hotels to accommodate the summer travel influx. They are ran very effectively. And, no they do not look like the typical dorm rooms. They actually look like hotel rooms. I was very surprised..
The hotel is a dormitory for a private school. It is operated as an Etta hotel during the summer months. We had a room with private bath. The hotel is clean and modern and has a large breakfast room. There are no TV's but there is wi-fi throughout the property. There appear to be several negative reviews and these may be from people who booked the shared bath smaller rooms.
My son and I spent 9 days in western and northwestern Iceland, including several days in the western fjords. Isafjordur was our favorite place, both for stunning scenery, and for the cute town. The hotel is in a great walking area to everything, and had a beautiful view.
The only problem was that there was just
one private shower in the communal men's bathroom for our entire building.

Disliked: Room comfort
More like a college dorm
Very clean, pleasant staff, good breakfast. However, with tile floors and loud doors, it was a bit noisy. It was more like a college dorm than a hotel. Fine for a traveller on a limited budget.

Liked: Cleanliness
Good location and easy to find. Small town makes everything walkable.
Bare bones is too generous for this place. It is completely amenity-free, save a serviceable breakfast in the morning. Otherwise this very much resembles staying in a hospital room. The rooms themselves are extremely clean (almost overly sanitized, furthering the hospital feel). No entertainment of any kind, no ice machine, even WiFi is only available in a small section of the lobby. Staff are surly and not particularly helpful. Location is fine, but Isafjordur is a small town with not much going on, so you're probably better off spending a little more to get a spot with some personality.
