"Very relaxing short break with friendly, attentive staff and good food at all meals."

"The hotel was generally comfortable and cosy. I enjoyed my 4-night stay but was disappointed by the cleanliness of the restaurant, including floor, tables and chairs. Only on the Monday morning did I witness a friendly, competent member of staff making an effort to improve and maintain the restaurant’s cleanliness. No matter the time of day, the restaurant floor was repeatedly found unvacuumed. In the room, the toilet bowl was clean, but the rim had not been cleaned for sometime. Overall I would return to the hotel as my stay was comfortable, but I hope the cleanliness would have been improved. "

"Breakfast was very good and freshly cooked. Plenty of choice with continental breakfast too. Room was clean but a little tired in places. The shower head needed descaling but bathroom was pretty clean. The pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were all an added bonus to our stay and very clean as well. The staff were exemplary. Very polite, helpful and courteous. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and is very ornately decorated and furnished. A great base for exploring Suffolk. "

"Excellent staff, worth their weight in gold. Especially Ms. Brooke. We had informed her about our son’s birthday and she ensured the room was decorated and a lovely card signed by all staff was left in the room. Made our day."

"Fan went off every 20 seconds during the night, wasn’t aircon as that was switched off so not sure what it was but kept me awake all night. Door didn’t lock properly when vacating the room. Tried about ten times. Eventually got it to lock, but when I was inside the room had to put a chair against the door as I was unsure if it was locked from outside as I was a lone female traveller. Normally stay here for work but won’t be staying again. "

"Parking was easy, plenty of spaces even on a busy Saturday afternoon which was when we arrived. The lady who welcomed us was lovely and provided useful information and gave phone numbers for local taxis. Same lady asked if we’d had a good evening on Sunday. Room was welcoming with delightful views across green fields. Bed was comfortable and shower was good too. Really pleasant stay, we’d certainly go back another time and so would our friends who were also staying at The Railway Thank you All for making our stay delightful "

"The room was in a neglected state , toilet didn’t flush properly, pillows paper thin, bed rock hard, walls thin, constant banging outside, room smelt damp , very bright flashing from smoke alarm right above bed all night ..a large group of us stayed here for one night and nobody slept well at all. Breakfast was poor choice (no vegetarian option) and took ages to refill when empty and they need more staff around the hotel "

"First time stay, it was a breathtaking in such a stunning setting. The breakfast was incredible. Check in was swift, room was lovely, staff were every so helpful, always with a smile - we had a great experience."
