"Nice view of Trout Lake and we liked the kayaks and rowboats provided. Birch Lodge is a large historic building and the owners have spent time and money bringing up to itโs current state. We loved the porch with rockers and flowers. Nice touch. The motel is super clean and well preserved. The overall property is a great little secret. My only complaint would be the lack of local restaurants. Food choices are limited."

"There was no staff, so I cannot rate that. No human contact at all, only text messages and codes to enter the room. The entrance door code pad was stuck @ we had quite a bit of trouble trying to lock it whenever we left. Had to jiggle door knob unit a bit & finally got it to lock. The room was mostly clean. The toilet had dried poop in the toilet bowl. All in all it was ok. Cleaning staff just needs to pay a bit better attention when cleaning the suite "

"We are a family of four, who only stayed at this hotel to sleep. We left immediately after breakfast. We WOULD stay here again. Keeping that in mindโฆ Pros: -The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful -The property was clean -There were many breakfast choices (eggs & sausage, biscuits & gravy, mini waffles, oatmeal, cereal, etc) -It was quiet. -You canโt beat this price in the area, especially with a breakfast factored in. Conโs: -The property was dated, so the doors needed a hard push to close all the way, the shower squealed, the outlets were loose (only half of them held a plug). -The mattresses desperately need to be replaced. Imagine sleeping on a trampolineโฆand waking up in a cuddle pile in the middle."
