I’ve only been in Houston since July 6, 2024 and of all the hotels as well as the other hostel I stayed in this one is the most comfortable the cleanest and the most affordable. I will be staying for a while.
Really dirty, explains the lack of photos, the shower knob is broken. There is no staff on sight. The people I was with in my room were really cool tho. This place has so much more untapped potential.
My credit card was compromised leaving me with limited funds. I booked the layover an i never knew that service was available between the rate for a bed and one key credit I was able to have a one night stay to get to the airport the following day- thank you it made a scary situation better

Disliked: Staff & service
The property changed my booking location. Then changed it back. But then when they sent me check-in information, it was with a different address again! Their phone number always goes to voicemail. I slept in my car rather than deal with all that.
This hostel stands out as my worst experience in over 20 years of hosteling.
I wonder how it was able to be listed on hotels.com. Checking in was to be seamless but after waiting for email for two hours past the check in time of 3.00pm, despite filling all strange details in the link sent by email, I was still stranded at the entrance.
I never received any check in details and couldn't even get to stay in that unhealthy environment. The ambience does not portray a safe place for any decent person.
Bad place, please don't even think of it!
As soon as I stepped out of the Uber, I was surrounded by 5 individuals who tried to rob me. I ran a few blocks to the gas station. I contacted Expedia and they wouldn't refund me but told me that I could contact the property and be moved to a different location. I checked out the second location and it was the same set up with people waiting around outside to ambush guests. I went back to the gas station to wait since it was 24 hrs and while I was there I spoke to an HPD officer who told me that the hostels in the city are scams and this is what happens. They set up guests to be robbed. He said I was better off staying at the airport or getting a hotel. I looked at several hostels on Expedia and they are the same picture but digitally altered to change the paint color or kitchen backsplash. The place I went to was a run down trap house in the middle of the ghetto. The cop actually told me that I was lucky to be alive. I told Expedia this needs to be taken down as unsafe but they didn't care.
