We were not told the power would be shut off during the early morning so we woke up at 1:30 this morning to no power and no A/C... My husband called the hotel and they said just open the windows but that is not like A/C... They said it would not come back on till 3:30 am

Staff was wonderful and the location made getting around easy. Room was noisy due to people inside the hotel hallways. Vehicles and motorcycles cruised up/down Waikiki until the wee hours with music blasting. The nice park across the street has wild chickens that will wake you up at 0500 every morning without fail - great alarm clock.

We arrived and they did not have our reservation and did not want to help us at all so we contacted expedida so see what can be done and they tried to contact the property but no one bothered to answer the phone so we had to get a completely new hotel !

We stopped for a 24 hour layover on our way to Australia. It was pouring down rain and the humidity had turned my hair all crazy, but the staff were great. The check in was quick and the clerk was friendly. We did not get the room I had reserved on Expedia and paid more for. We wanted a view and our room did not have one. The thermostat could not be set above super cold and it was really humid in our room. I guess the humidity can’t be helped but it was hard to sleep that night. Our bed was super soft and the pillows were fluffy.

The staff at the front desk and housekeeping staff are wonderful people. Helping you all the time whether you need a direction or you need utensils or coffee flavours. Friendly smile and positive welcome. It’s a 3- star hotel but the services are 5 star. People please don’t expect to have big rooms or free parking in Waikiki. Read the details on their website about what they offer. Definitely gonna come back here for my next staycation too.

We had a fabulous time at the Holiday Inn Express Waikiki. It is about 15 min walk from the beach/main drag with shops along the way. We got our steps in but the weather made every day a beautiful walk.

The beach is within walking distance but it's a really long walk, not great for older folks. I brought my 84-year-old grandma and it was quite a trek to get to the property. The room with double beds and partial ocean view is meant for 4 adults but we are just 3 and it's way too cramped. There's barely any space to move around, especially with our luggage. We were on the 25th floor with no elevator, so we had to take the stairs down from the 26th floor. What a pain! We ended up getting another room because it was so stuffy and I felt claustrophobic. They should just have one queen bed to give more room. It was way too expensive for what we got. Not worth it at all. The housekeeping staff were nice though.

-Check in was quick and efficient -Wifi worked well -Rooms were small and a bit dated, but clean -Air/con worked well and kept us cool -Beds comfortable with nice pillows and duvets -Location is excellent- not front and centre but easily within walking distance of everything -Pool deck was beautiful and pools clean. Plenty of room for laying out and shade as well as a games deck. -Price was expensive but average for Waikiki -Breakfast was full and had many options!
