The location is very convenient to the transit. The gentleman in the morning was very friendly to all customers and very helpful offering suggestion on where to go and how to take the train.

We checked in March 21 and checked out March 23 with extended check-out at 6 PM on the 23rd. When I booked the hotel on Expedia, I didn't notice $49 per night charge was added to the bill for my 11-year-old son, even though the hotel webpage on Expedia.com clearly states any children 11 or under would not incur extra charge if the child does not require additional bed. When checked into the hotel room, I noticed an extra folding bed was in the room which we didn't need, so we called the front desk to remove it. At this point I realized Expedia over-charged $98 for my son for the entire stay. Hotel staff came to remove the extra bed around 8 PM on the 21st. Shortly after, they called our room about the extra charge. My husband showed them the child policy on Expedia site and told them we would not pay for something we didn't use. They seemed to agree. At 6 PM on March 23rd, while checking out, without me asking, the young lady at the front desk told me that they could not refund me directly because Expedia charged me directly when I booked the hotel, but they already contacted Expedia about this incident such that I should call Expedia to get a refund. On March 25, we called Expedia. On March 27, Expedia came back saying that after multiple tries, they weren't able to obtain an approval from the property manager to waive the charge fee. We would not change the low rating until you both work together to resolve the issue (Expedia itinerary 72784453816863).

Excellent service and extreme friendly staff. My wife and I spent the last 5 night in this hotel on our anniversary. The staff are very friendly. Front desk very accommodating. The bell captain Max is very passionate. He not only gave us advice on local eateries and directions to get there. When we do not have the coins for the tram fare, he pulled several coins from his own pocket to give us for the fare. It is beyond the call of duty. the kindness and generosity out of this world. It is a reflection this young man has a very kind and warm heart and made us feel very good about our staying. The young man, Bruce, is very helpful in getting us a taxi and loading our baggage on our departure. All in all, very excellent experience and a complete satisfaction on our stay. We’ll be back.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone and I will stay here next time I come back to HK. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and super clean. There are many good eateries nearby and the A12 bus from the airport only takes about 40 minutes to get here.

Staff members are very friendly and helpful with our additional requests during our stay. The hotel is within easy walking distance to trams and the HK Uni subway station allowing ready access to popular tourist areas in HK island and Kowloon. Lots of eateries near the hotel and in the adjacent suburb Kennedy Town. There is a Chinese vegetarian takeaway outlet within 5 min walk from the hotel.

We absolutely love this hotel - it’s our go-to whenever we visit HK. Great location minutes from MTR and plenty of shops etc nearby. Rooms are spacious, clean, everything you need for a good stay. Staff are fantastic - make you feel like a VIP every time you see them. Concierge is excellent. All our requests were accommodated and it feels like the staff always find solutions or go above and beyond to help guests. Can’t recommend this place highly enough! Top tip: get a harbour view room for lovely views across Victoria Harbour, great to wake up to each morning!

My Wife and I stayed at the One-Eight-One Hotel for four nights in January 2024. The Hotel is beautiful, and the hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a Luxe Harbour King room with a view of the Harbour. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. There are many amenities like a laundry room, but we did not need them. The only complaint I have is that it is overpriced for the location. It is remote and it takes a while to get to the main attractions of Hong Kong. We didn’t mind too much as we enjoyed riding on the tram, but that can get tiresome after a while. Overall, though, we liked the Hotel.

Great hotel, Well maintained, Outstanding Service
Property was in pristine condition, the staff were super helpful and welcoming (particularly the cleaning staff). The rooms were much bigger than the usual HK size, and are well designed, equipped and cleaned. Location was great, close to tram stop and MTR station (HKU). The only downside is it is quite close to a harbour logistic centre / motorway, so if you pick a harbour room make sure to go for the higher floors.

Excellent location for transportation (tram is 2 mins away, train station is 4 mins away) and quick local dining options. Hotel is clean, modern with warm staff, and room was spacious and comfortable (great bed!). My only regret was not getting a room with beautiful harbor views (mine faced residential buildings). Oh, plus FREE 24 hours on site laundry! I'd definitely stay here again!

Service is excellent and all the staff are very helpful. The cleaners are very efficient and top notch in cleaning out the room daily. Complementary laundry self serve is available on 5th floor. The ocean view takes my breath away and makes the most enjoyable out of this stay
