There is ample opportunity to explore North Zealand's lush countryside, visit museums and experience the beautiful capital when visiting Holte.

Holte is situated in North Zealand in one of Denmark's most beautiful spots, with Copenhagen to the south of the town and other fantastic historic towns nearby. On a visit to Holte you will experience wealthy Danish neighbourhoods, golf courses, historical museums and excellent scenery featuring both forests and lakes.

In the late 1900s, Holte was still a small village nestled in the outstanding scenery of North Zealand. Copenhagen grew in line with industrialisation and larger settlements developed near the village, which was then called Old Holte. Today, Holte is an extremely modern provincial town with plenty of shopping opportunities, especially at Holte Midtpunkt.

For a break in Holte, you could pack your golf clubs in the car and drive over to Søllerød Golf Club. The greens are very well maintained and there is a wealth of beautiful vantage points on the hilly 18-hole course. Visit Old Holte Farm, which offers interesting exhibitions, a baroque garden and a charming orangery. You may wish to enjoy a light lunch in the café, situated in one of the main building's old extensions before continuing towards Holte Church.

To experience the city, simply jump in the car, on a bus or a train and head into Copenhagen where you can take in all the cultural offerings of the capital. Take a trip to Furesøen and partake in activities with the children. Here you can bathe at the China Bay Water Park in summer, and there are also various sailing clubs.

Once you’ve flown to Copenhagen from the UK, it’s easy to travel to Holte by car or train. There is plenty of accommodation to choose from, whether you want wellness and full board or cosy bed & breakfasts in quiet surroundings.

Holte is situated in the Municipality of Rudersdal, with Søllerød Town Hall from 1942 an architectural masterpiece that clearly reflects the style of the architects, Flemming Lassen and Arne Jacobsen. At the time of opening, the town hall was stylishly furnished with Arne Jacobsen furniture and lamps.

We requested that the room was cleaned daily. This was not really Cleaning. They emptied the bins and made the beds but didn’t sweep and crumbs and food were on the floor as we were there for four days with two young children so we could have done with the floor being cleaned. However the room itself ...

The laundry room was so convenient with multiple washing machines and dryers, and complimentary wash pods. The room was spacious and clean. Kitchen was kitted with a hob, fridge and freezer, sink, kettle, and toaster. Would’ve been nice to have a microwave, but we were fine without one.

The building for this hotel looks a bit dull from outside - but on the inside, it's amazing - a real oasis in the heart of the city. We had a room with a balcony on the 6th floor, and it was fab to have a sofa and space outside that we could just relax without being in an expensive Danish bar or ...
