"Room was so dirty. I was afraid of getting bed bugs. They also charged me twice for the stay - I booked on Expedia and paid & then they charged me again at the property"

"The staff was great at check-in. The hotel is in desperate need of renovation and a deep clean, feels as if it has been forgotten. The most bizarre piece of this trip was the lamp in our room not having a plug near it. Just a lamp unplugged in the corner."

"This hotel is old. And not the charming New England old, but rather run down old. Bed and pillows are very uncomfortable. The bathroom has a pedestal sink and no counter to place your toiletries on. It was fairly quiet but on our second night a dog in the room next-door was barking between 10 and 11 PM. I liked the price and the proximity to Groton. Otherwise, probably one of the worst looking motels I I’ve stayed in in a long time. The man at the front desk was very pleasant and accommodating."

"It’s time to have larger trash cans in the room! At present, there’s only a tiny trash can in the bathroom…so small that we couldn’t fit 2 large cups from soda."

"I’ve never stayed in the newer annexes or offerings at the colonial, only once in the main building. Firstly, the landscaped grounds and front garden bordering the outdoor patio are spectacular, and the setting is delightful for food and drinks. But make no mistake, when you book a room in the main house, you’re longing for your grandma’s memory. First off, there are NO blackout curtains - bring your blinders. "The room was large and functional. Breakfast was very good and the breakfast area had plenty of tables. Also, parking was no problem and the staff was very helpful. Overall, a very pleasant hotel."

"Have never stayed here before, but what a wonderful stay we had. The Free Breakfast was exceptional. We will definitely plan on spending more nights here when we come that way. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was super friendly. All in all, a 10 out of 10!"
